Thread: How much are other merchants bringing in?
What needs to happen is the weaponsmiths should just start buying stuff. Even if you don't really need it, buy it just to help get the economy going. There needs to be money going through the economy before it starts. So change your outfit once a day or get a second house, buy another factory, buy up resources, give out handouts whatever it is really up to the weaponsmiths to jumpstart this economy!
Ill be the first to say i buy almost all my resources. I have 2 copper harvestars, and an ok iron harvestar and a single wind generator. I still have to buy iron, cus i burn through it quickly, lots of steel, crabonate/low grade or, inert petrolchem, reactive gas etc............I think im starting to become "one" witht he global economy now to where im suffiectn enough to not have to have a bijillion harvestars, the lrg castle was just to show off my pimp status, and i buy freely of whatever i think is cool. Currently im probably going to end up spending 50-100k on furniture, trying to get a Suit made (be more business like) and start a player city.
At least one weaponsmithy is giving back ![]()
Armorsmith / Merchant
Have about 900k in the bank and (at a price of 5 creds per resource), nearly 2 million creds in materials (metals, ore and organic structural and hides)
I am a tailor who does armorsmith on the side and I'm at 700K right now.
I don't sit on my money. I'm always buying resources off the market to help my harvesters out and I also just bought 3 medium harvesters last night for 100K. When I see medics or entertainers I tip big. I do my best to put mone back in the economy when I can. Pretty much the only people who do not get my money are weaponsmiths. =P
I'm one of the poor ones.
I'm a merchant and aspiring chef in partnership with an architect. It seems like 10 percent of the population are architects, probably because of the PA hall requirements. So we're not selling much. And everyone thinks food is useless.... though when they finally clue in, and I am one of the few Master Chefs on the server, I expect my ship to come in. ![]()
Anyway, yesterday I was broke and doing delivery missions to pay harvester maintenance, but we sold a factory and a small house last night so we've each got 40k in the bank and are set for a week or so. I should add though that we are both casual gamers by necessity, with too many RL obligations to spend enough time to compete with the powergamers among y'all.
Either you're almost a master weaponsmith and can charge whatever you like and get as much business as you want, or you starve because everyone is obsessed with the numbers- so much so they'll pay an extra 3k for 1/10 of a second faster gun or 15k for a pair of vibroknucklers. And anyone who isn't obsessed with having the best possible stats on their weapon don't want to pay more than 100c for it.
I think there are maybe 3-4 high-level weaponsmiths, and they get all the business on my server (Lowca). It seems like it's a case of "they got there first, and now they get it all."
Chef/Merchant here.. 6k in the bank. And proud of every pretty penny. At least my pistol skills have been going up enough doing destroy missions to support myself I think I'll try to get a few levels in Smuggler too. =)
