Thread: Will I Lose My Vendors?
I've avoided calling it an exploit since it is not technically a bug it is just a design flaw that can be abused. It has always been clear that it needed to be fixed. That is as far as I know the first time an employee of SOE has publically stated that it would be fixed and that it shouldn't be done.
Does the skill mod say "beat horse" or "call a horse for beating?"
Just because some of you have been around this forum for a while and haveargued this many times doesn't mean everybody else has. Don't read and respond to the thread if you don't like the topic.
While your at it drop the beating a dead horse line. It's been around since the beginning of time. You obviously don't likeit when somebody says something that somebody else said prior to them...yet for some reason you're more than happy to beat the dead cliche horse yourself.
Well, this was the only skill tree you could drop and retain the benefits of.
Now the politician tree is the same way. Once they set up the city the way they want they can drop the skill and retain the properties.
and that is not a bug and is intended to work that way.
So maybe this isn't a bug or an exploit either. Has an actual Dev (not a csr or PR guy like TH) made a comment on this one way or the other?
I think having disposable skils like this are a real plus and help me get along with limited skill points in this game. Why are you fighting it? Just do the same thing the rest of us do.

Agreed, its a wast of skill points to have to keep them to operate a vender. In fact is probably the Merchants saving grace that once we drop our venders we can dedicate our skills to crafting more in more advanced areas. With the 6k limit on the Bizzar its not woth selling anything there thats of any real quality value, and so a Master Artison/Weaponsmith/etc... prity much has to have a vender.Being inthe same skill tree gets prity borning after a while so I like the idea that I can dable in many. You kill that and the internal ecodies.

I actually visited this forum because I wanted to know if I could drop merchant and keep my vendors.
I can understand why some merchants would feel very passionate about this but here isthe thing:
I cant waste my sp as a MBE for some stupid vendor. I wish the game allowed other merchants to put down a vendor for rent that would allow OTHERS to access it and place things on it... have the money go directly into my bank account.. themaintenance could include a "rent" for the master merchant..
OR
Let all players have access to a limited vendor... could be twice a much in maintenance and have only have the capacity to hold items...
OR
Do both
My point is, while I hate to see anyones profession being abused, the way SOE has it set up ATM is you have to either use this bug/exploit OR waste sp on just on artisan/merchant OR trust some dude to be honest and fair and be available everytime u need to put something up for sale or have someone drop something off to you.

I also agree that being able to drop merchant and keeping vendors is the saving grace of that profession. Once you have placed vendors and signs you don't need 2 trees in that branch. Why waste skill points??
How can it be the "saving grace of the profession" if you NO LONGER IN THE PROFESSION? emmer effen exploiters
