Thread: Holo and Q... why do you even bother asking?
This intentionally went live without warning so that your maint would run out and and you'd lose your items.
The result? Their database is much smaller... which is the whole point of this "nerf".
If it's live, I'm putting enough in to keep them up until this evening. Then I'm going to think hard about what to do next.
I suspect I'm cancelling.
It's especially contemptible and grotesque that there was no warning at all.
It simply confirms that the entire point of this was to delete vendors and items. It's got nothing to do with a cash sink, or they would have warned people amply in order to suck cash out of the economy.
Why don't they just delete half the vendors outright? Why prance around with such a ridiculous fig leaf? It's a big lie on a ridiculous scale.
We were WARNED...I took down all my vendors and waited for the NERF....so if you get hosed ...sorry but you should know better....they do as they want after all it is there game.
Been here a long time....Been in bussiness a long time...Been living a long time...Assume the worse and you will not be surprised.

who are you again? oh right "P A Y N E"
yawn
My definition was much more original at any rate thanks. Thanks for feeding though.
I can see that originality and creativity are your specialty. That's why you used the random name generator when you created "Terendal Windstalker." How do you stalk wind anyway? That's sort of..I don't know, impossible. Maybe if the wind in question had an odor to it, you'd be able to stalk it.
I submit: "Terendal Fartstalker."
Anyway. Here's your cookie.
heh. Anyways i think it's rather insulting to just write it off as 'they told you it was going to happen' these changes are going to have a huge game changing effect on merchants, just to write it off in some 'tough luck' message is really dumb. There's more to it than that. People are going to be really screwed over by this change and SOE justdoesn't care.
I never take a post seriously from a Dev. They are wrong or just bs'ing 95% of the time. They have ZERO credibility and in my view look like incompitent boobs. I woudlnt want to be in their shoes thats for sure.

I guess what worries me the most about this is that some people are already reporting changes to maintenance costs, and other merchants on the same servers are reporting that vendor costs are the same.
If there's anything worse than this nerf, it's this nerf executed in a buggy fashion that might possiblyresult in the kind of vendor instability that we saw a couple of weeks ago.I think that vendors were hosed accidentally in that patch, but left broken for - 5 days? - on purpose. To weed outsome merchants.
I do agree that this isn't a "too much money in the economy" problem, but it is in fact a database problem. If it was too much money, they'd just enact a graduated income tax, and be done with it.
IfSOE isnot willing to spend the money to fix their database problems right now thenthey'renot in this for the long-term;they're just milking it for all it's worth, knowing that they have already made more than enough money to recover their costs. They don't care about the future because anyadditional profitis just gravy. That would explain a good bit of their behavior.
I urge all crafters to setup the maximum number of vendors you can have and
fill their inventories with 1cr items. Make powerups or other low cost items
by the thousands and give them away in town. Urge the recipients to list them
on the bazaar, hell give them 100 credits to encourage this. Fill your houses
and factories with items, and be sure you keep 25 items in the bazaar at all
times.
The only voice any of us have in this game is our credit card. If you are not
quitting the game because of the vendor ‘fix’ then please make your voice heard
by creating as many items as you can. Let us see if SOE notices when the number
of items in the databases double every few days.
FYI, there is a little know method of dropping items in places other that
your home/camp. Just wait till everyone knows how this works! Imagne seeing
Theed covered in boffa treats from end to end...
This could truely be the begining of the end for SWG.
Ack. I'd been looking forward to setting up a vendor terminal as soon as I can.
With all these changes now, the prospect looks less and less attractive to me. ![]()
