I think an item you put up for sale then cancel immediately will last 5 weeks in your stockroom not 1 week. The timer will count down from 30 days till 0 days while it sits in the stockroom, then you'll have 7 more days till its deleted. Please don't go throw away billions of credits worth of stuff without testing this, but I believe it does work this way.
