I vote:
D
The Reasoning:
I have a master merchant with Tailor and Chef as well, My brother is an Armorsmith, Architect, Master Artisan/ Just tailor alone I can get over 500 Items to sell easily. OUr furniture Merchant....Well Over 500 when fully stocked. Armorsmith, we like to keep lots of different types of armor on the vendors so people have choices of what to actually wear around, so we can easily stock over 500 items, with most of that being just composite, so Really if you limited less than 500 we'd need 2 vendors just for armor alone. 500 would be in my opinion a minimum limit.
The real problem your probabally haveing is the fact that you give us crafters very little space to store Items, so people have turned to putting everything they have on one vendor with a really high sale price, so your getting lots of vendors with thousands of Items. 150 items in a medium house just is not enough space for us to use, With architect we ran out of Storage space for Our resources and things instantly, so what are we supposed to do with em, our banks are already filled with items from loot drops and other things, We have yet gone to the extent of putting up a vendor to store things but that seems the only way we're going to be able to juggle the whole Starage thing.
