It definitely hurts.
At a minimum my second account used to be merchant will be gone when this goes live.

yes, as a WS on one server and a DE on another, there is no point in keeping this game going if this nerf goes live. If the nerf goes through I'd have to play this game AS A JOB to keep up with the demand. The vendor cap will make daily vendor refills a requirement, and I just don't want to have to head back to my shop constantly to run it.
My DE will be lightest hit by this, but there isn't much point in keeping the game going for just him. I can't imagine the armorsmiths and weaponsmiths are going to keep at it with the new vendor cap. So hunting will only last as long as my gear holds out, and even then with the combat nerf... ahem... rebalance I doubt I'll be able to hunt for much longer.

They just do not comprehend that ultimately the ONLY reason to play and KEEP playing is the aquisition of new STUFF! The ability to STORE all this STUFF is anintegral part of KEEPING customers. Gameplay in and of itself is simply not enough, and credits... We dont have anything to spend credits on that costs enough to make us need to amass much more than a million or so... Which is not difficult with composite, buffs, and a solo group on Dantooine.

Well...here's my thoughts on it.
I use a vendor for storage. I also use a lot of extractors. I cant afford more then 1 character either.
How am I supposed to store stuff now?
I know vendors are NOT intended for that...but SOE will not make a better way.
I have over 400 + items ( not to mention I havea factory going right now making 4000 Munon Gold units. Thats 160 crates. That will fill up my house already.
10 lots is not enough to act as storage/extractor/vendor lots.
just not possible.
I think there should be a better way to keep the merchant proffesion more active.

After careful thought on this, and the fact that I love SWG and have played since launch and all I ever wanted to do was be a merchant and a darn good one, I have decided that if any NERF goes through on vendors I will be cancelling all my merchant accounts. I am not paying my $15 per account each month to be controlled in how I play a game that was suppose to cater to the casual gamer and have content that the players themselves create. I have stood by every nerf, every change, ever decision even when it hurt, but this is inexcusable and unacceptable.
And please SOE dont insult my and most other peoplesintelligence by pretending you are doing us a favor and upping the limit to 300 items, and now you can have 12 vendors? Please explain to me hwo this is going to cut back on inventory? so now instead of my 1 vendor cluttering up the data server I am going to have 12 vendors cluttering up the server? Give me a break.
Thank you for destroying my game play and forcing me to now go spend my money elsewhere!

You folks still think that 300 items is too few? On no less than 12 vendors? Good grief. It doesn't need to be unlimited.
I think they increased the limit too far such that vendor space isn't enough of a premium to help the merchant class. But I guess you disagree enough to leave. Wow.

Huh-what? Lookit, SOE is going to do what they're going to do, and we can pretty much shift the runaway tanker that is SWG a few degree's either way.
I'll keep playing, maybe not restocking as much, as long as my guild and friends are around.
BUT ... there's a lot less guildies and friends this week than there was last week ...

Its not just the vendor nerf, its the combat revamp, catering to certain *coughJedicough* members of our community while leaving other, more establishedprofessions *coughSmuggercough* in the cold, the constant bait-and-switch that SOE is famous for (or have you forgotten the 25 items per house *big uproar* ok ok.. 75 ... fiasco).
This is just the straw that broke the camel's back. I dont care about how many items the vendors are limited to, or how many vendors I get. What ticks me off, is the low-balling in the begining, then TH coming back with higher numbers like he's some save-all Hero (you think 300 is their rock bottom? I have some ocean front property to sell you real cheap, write me at 123 Duh Lane, YouFellForItAgain, Arizona)
Poor customer service for something Im paying for is why Im quitting. Not abiding by the community standards they expect us to follow is why Im quitting. If you think its the nerf thats driving people away, you are sadly narrow minded. Its not respecting the baseline gaming community enough to be up front with them that is driving quality players away. Who wants to be treated like a 12 year old? "Mommy I want that new race car"... "no, Johnny, you cant have it".. *Johnny cries* .. "ok. ok.. heres a 5 cent lollipop instead" *Johnny is now happy*(hey, it works on MY 5 year old).
JTL will save SOE for 6 months. The 'coolness' and 'newness' will wear off the first time they take Shipwright, "upgrade" them, and tell them they cannow only make 5 ships a week, because the servers can't handle the massive influx of ships racing around space, because of course, they never thought a game they dumped all their money into developing would ever need upgraded or more DB/server space *eye roll* .. this will be followed by a big outcry, then SOE coming back and saying.. "ok ok.. 10 a week.. see how good we are to you?"
