I found a Loophole.

Preface: When you buy from the Bazaar, if you delete the mail, it's okay, because you can look in "Available Items" and it'll tell you what city to go to. Once in the city, you can, of course, pick it up from any Bazaar terminal.

Problem: When using the Vendor Search, though, if you accidentally delete the mail before pickup, you're kind of screwed. All it does is give you the geographical area of the planet to go to, and that's it. You'd have to try every single vendor in the whole area to find it, and even if they were all on the overhead map, that's a lot.

Solution: Put a "Get Waypoint" button on the description screen of all "Available Items" that were purchased via Vendor Search, or put the waypoint in the item description.

Well as we all know how much they love to NOT put stuff live once it's on TC... you all can always choose to not include your vendors in the search... I know that's what I'm going to be doing... If I honestly think there is still any reason to even have a vendor.

Solution: Remove the BUY option, leaveing only a get WPfunction to begin with.

Here's my answer; You'll still need higher Merchant skills to stock a lot of items and as to multiple vendors....

[snip]

Yes, but then what are the hiring and advertising branches for?

Good point and I hadn't thought of that.

I could agree with giving those people that have sp invented in those lines, the ability to do a premium galaxy auction, but if you prevented anyone with a vendor from being in this system, you're removing the "word of mouth" and people just "driving by" business and not replacing it with anything else.

The people, unable to register, may as well go to a combat profession becasue they'll have lost a majority of their business and have no way to compete now without killing one of their money-making crafting professions.

I'd love to say, with my character, i could drop all combat skills, but that's unrealistic because the spawn rates are so "out of whack" for crafters, I have to have, at least, pistols 3 to survive-and even then, I get killed constantly going to my factories and harvesters.

I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game

Come on people

Only a few months ago you could drop *all* merchant skills and all artisan pre-reqs and still run a business with full vendors and merchant priveledges...

Was the economy in shambles? Did it prevent those people who wanted to actively be a merchant or run a well maintatined, well stocked, well decorated vendor house from doing just that - *and* making money from it?

By all means express your concerns, work with the staff to close loopholes in the new system, but all those shouting "Fire" or "Armageddon" are just going way overboard.

They changed the ability for non-Merchants to retain working Merchant vendors because they realized it made the Merchant profession rather pointless. Turning around and letting Business III have the same galaxy-wide publicity as a Master Merchant--or even a 4000 one--is reversing a good part of what they did.

They said they'd make our profession unique and useful again, and they did, and then they handed one of the most important abilities right back out to anyone with a few spare SP...

One thing I'd like to see changed is the "distance" listing. It's misleading. I looked up my shop on the terms tonight (Eclipse is my home server), and it said it was 3200m from Bestine. To test, I timed both hopping on a shuttle and going to my shop, and driving to shops 800m and 1200m from Bestine. The time was about the same, depending on shuttle wait and if you got attacked along the way, etc. But people don't *know* I'm by a shuttleport--for all they know, I'm 3200m into the Dune Sea.

I'd suggest either changing the "distance" to be "distance from a shuttleport" or to mark the distance with a star ( * ) if the building is ina shuttleport town. This will be an extra boon to player towns--otherwise business will continue to go to the non-town stores plastered around Coronet, Theed, Mos Eisley and Bestine, simply because they're "more convenient." (Even if they're not.)

Ok. The Current Test Center build has the "Bid" amount on the listing so you can view and sort by price. HOWEVER, the buy button is gone from the details screen. You can now only view the details and get a waypoint to the vendor. You cannot buy items remotely and pick them up.

Checking this now myself, I saw the patch note for the column but didn't see it when I logged in.

It wasn't in the day before yesterday when they originally put that note in, but it is in there today along with the absence of the buy option from the details screen.

UGH..price should definatly be left to the description window
Seeing it first page is not a good idea, and the page looks even more crowded now
The 'buy' button in description needs to become a 'get waypoint' just as the right click and main page button options did.

Yea though the button on the bottom pane would work even with the details screen open. The waypoint needs work.

1543 factory crates galaxywide on TC-Eclipse anda lot ofmerchants haven't even logged in yet. I doubt this search feature is going to widely used and popular in its current implementation.

Hmph, I unfortunately deinstalled TC because of lack of HD space. Are you saying that, after all the player feedback about price being removed even from the details screen, they decided to add the price column so you can sort the items? This is unbelievable.
