Thread: Vendor Problems from 9/4/03 Patch

(Shrug) I had 25 items on my npc vendor and nothing happened to them.
I lost a creature on my bio vendor,
I lost a house on my deeds vendor,
I lost 12 pieces or so of furnture on my furnti vendor.
All things were in the storeroom that were lost.
I placed a new vendor as well and it looks like Ad Barking is no longer an option. Interesting.
I'm shutting down my shop until I feel we are stable.. but I feel very uncomfortable at the moment.

Loosing items as well, they get stolen as soon as they lie in the stockroom for a day or two. But that started BEFORE the last big patch, I already filed a ticket but only got trouble so far - and since it was only some food and skillenhancers I didn't care too much. But now I fear my weapons vendor is stealing the weapons from his storeroom as well!
Well maybethe vendors steal 'cause they don't get payed for working all the time :-) BUT HELLO, DEVS:Should these stealing vendors really be the "money sink" you spoke of?
OK,no jokes now, this HAS to fixed soon, things like that complety destroy the trade - and the trade is one of the most important forms of social interaction in the game! Given that for merchants things did't really improve since day1 (oh yeah, maybe a vendor will wear some clothing now and maybe i can put a really ugly sign in front of my shop - but i still have to log in after each server reset for the planetary map,a lot of skillboxes still are completly useless or even insulting- haha 12 creds instead 20 for bazaar saleis soooo great an improvement - and now i cannot be sure anymore that items in my vendor will stay there) I think that lots of players will drop the crafting/merhcant lines and pick up a gun or a rocket launcher - since these classes seem to get more attention.
Hmm didn't want t sound THAT negativ, but well, thats how I feal and I think every merchant feels more or less the same...

Bugged it, but don't know if it'll do any good.
I have both new and old vendors in various places, and have had no issues with missing items.
I did discover one new bug that was rather annoying. Vendors are now randomized (Good!) in looks. I created several and dropped them in the back room. Removed the worst, and tried again and again until I finally found one I liked. Now it was time to move her (uninitialized, of course) to the main room. Tried to pick up, and was told I don't have access to that vendor.
So now, once you drop your vendor...that's it. You used to be able to pickup the vendor to move it, prior to initializing it. I've verified this on several more tries.
How does stuff like this pass TC? Did no one on TC actually create a new vendor a move it in the last two weeks? I can't imagine that is true, for you needed to create new ones in order to test giving them clothing. Come to think of it, why wasn't that addressed in test either? I saw no mention of needing to remove your old vendor. Would have greatly appreciated the ability to keep our old vendors, yet use our abilities. Moving 100s of items tonight != fun.
I've had mixed results. I re-placed 5 of my vendors today to test this. On these 5 post-patch terminal vendors I placed a few metal fasteners on each one and listed them for 5000 credits each. Of the 5, 3 of them lost all of the metal fasteners that were placed on them. The remaining two still have the metal fasteners 6 hours after I listed them.
As far as I can tell, all of the merchants were initialized and had their maintenance paid. The vendors which lost the items drew nothing from their maintenance pool. My pre-patch terminal is still working normally, soitcould be thatpost-patch vendors are being hit with this bug randomly.
