Thread: Merchant Corrspondant (Week 6)
Okay everyone, We did not have one last week because of all the changes. After a few stumbles, it look like we did get a little (very little) Love.
I want to do this a little diffrently, I am going to post what I think are the new emerging issues, after the patch, and I want all of you to add to it. I also want to start focusing on improvments to the class, not just bugs please.
I DO NOT WANT ARGUMENTS PLEASE.
1.Vendor Fees
Vendor fees are WAY to high, reguardless of how you slice it. Some vendors cost upwards to 10k + a day to maintain. This fee needs to be assesed at the time of the sale, or lowered outright, the marginal reduction on the fee in the eff line does not cut it.
Why is this bad...
- Vendors can still be used as storage, it is called the stockroom. I can place a large naboo house in my vendor for 1 credit, and them withdraw the sale, cost to keep it in the stockroom "Zippo". The only person that is punished by this fee structure is that of the real merchant. Not the ones looking to bump the system
- There are no ways to get people to the shops, or to even let people know they are there, so a large ticket item can sit in a vendor way to long.
2. Time limit on sales other vendor improments
- For the love of all things that are good, please remove this, or extend it to 30 days or more. Most merchants keep there vendors well stocked, and because players to not know what has been there for how long, they just buy. We have all had a flood of emails from items that we placed in the vendor, exprire all at once.
- I also want to see a slider added for items that can be split. Lets say you have 10,000 ore, I want to be able to set a price per unit, and allow the user to buy as little or as much as they want.
- Be able to reprice items without withdrawing sale.
- Have a feild where when selling an item, you can specify who it is for, and only they can buy it.
3. Additions
- I want to be able to drop items on the outside spaces on my house. Including the space that is "ground" that is part of the lot because of the "ramps" to get to the houses. It is my space.
- I also want ADDED to the game banners like those at the starport with diffrent Icons at to what I am selling, and a few, that are just nice looking. I can place them in the shop, or in my outside space. Make them only useable in public houses.
- I want a command to raise and lower stuff!
Okay guys there are some of this issues I have, bring up limited bug issues, and ways to make the class better and we will see what we can do to put together a good list.
I am doing this early so we will have a good list by Wednesday afternoon.
My main concern this week is that after fixing the Admin permissons so that you can put a vendor in someone else's structure they have the Merchant XP going to the owner of the house and not the owner of the Vendor. uhhh.....
Improvements:
I need to hire help to manage some of my vendors. I need to open stores in other cities and other planets. In short.. I need a Vendor Admin List. We have them for almost every other kind of structure in the game why not Vendors?
Doc, Who is getting the MExps if Your vendor is in MY house. I am tring to clairfy.
I don't know about houses actually but I am assuming it is the same. I have an Entrence Fee and a Vendor on our PA Hall. The deed owner of the PA hall is getting merchant experience. He doesn't even have Novice Artisan.
He's also getting the Entry fee in his bank acount too but I'm not sure how that should legally be handled. It is his structure that I placed an entry fee on.
I get the money from the vendor so at least I'm not totally out.
A big issue with my vendors: This has been really brought to the fore with the re-categorization of clothing. Retreiving an item does NOT work correctly for me. In order to retrieve something, I have to use the button at the bottom, let it sit for a few seconds, close the "waiting" window, then right click the item and Retreive. Or vice versa. It doesn't seem to matter which method I try first, I ALWAYS have to use both to actually get the item.
The weird thing is, I have no such problem on the bazaar, just my vendors, and I thought they were using the same code....
Main issues I see:
- Experience for vendors going to owner of structure, not the owner of the vendor.
- AD III needs to be reset after each server reboot (everyday).
- AD IV Vendor does not like to get dressed up.
- Maintenance on Terminals and droids eat a 20% mark-up with-in one day. VERY IMPORTANT to fix before fixing the 1 credit NPCs
- Resource split issue with NPC vendors.
Need to have more people check into Ad Barking. Seems that this may still be broken.
Ad Barking is working (even customized ad barking) it resets with server resets too.. Don't know why this is so hard for them to fix (sheesh)
Did someone saythat you have to be an admin to place the vendor? The vendor list is what? Useless? Can I be removed from the vendor list if I am an admin? Can I make someone and admin, let them place the vendor and then remove them from the admin list?
* Improve the placing of vendors. The /move commands do not work on them. The game gives you am message to pick them up instead of using the /move command, but we can not pick them up either. The only work around is to destroy the vendor, which is very counter productive and just plain stupid.
* Allow us to move an initialized vendor. When remodeling my store I should not have to destroy all my vendors. Let us move them like furniture
* Please fix the Maintenance cost on terminals. A fully stocked resource vendor can cost 200 to 400 credits per hour. We are trying to sell resources as cheap as possible, but we can not because of this maintenance fee. There is now way to compete with the bizarre sells if our maintenance is so high.
Number One: Upper levels of merchant offer extremely low value for the number of points expanded compared to other professions and need significant and immediate attention.
Bug: Items sold disappear the first time they are brought past a serverline. This takes a long time to explain to the customer, involves lost money on refunds, and is generally irritating.
I'd have to agree with Numtini's Number One.
I would also say fixing the de-registration of vendors after every server reset (which was not fixed on Eclipse) is a killer for someone like me with 6 vendors in 4 locations across 3 planets. That's my personal Number One.
