Sorry but you are an idiot.
We all want things, and they aren't going to get rid of profession because we want it. I want to use Stims so get rid of medic and put that in the novice marksman line. I want to collect hides, so get rid of scout and put that in novice brawler line.
The game is about choices. You can't have everything or be everything.
Did you read the post? lol. I said put merchant in a crafting tree. Since you obviously can't understand the thread, let me explain it for you. If you pick up AS, WS, Tailor, Arch, DE, etc, you would be able to place venders. You would progress in merchant while you progressed in your crafting profession, it wouldn't double the professions up, allowing an excess of venders though. It wouldn't be doing away with it, it would be saving SP for the people who use it the most.
Part of this vender nerf issue was people loosing their venders due to them not having skills to keep them. While you may want to waste skill points while it could be distributed, or rented, a good majority of us wouldn't.
Putting Merchant in a crafting tree has been suggested, and would make everyones life easier (how could it not?). The ability to rent one would work for those whom make money off PvE items.
It's not asking to have or be everything, it's just a possible solution, show me something better.

Believe it or not, some people want to be merchants and not crafters. I am personally not one of those people. But I did read your post, and I stand by what I said.
Eh, tossing opinions around is a good thing
Merchant is a profession and some people like it. So you have to make choices on what you want your character to do. Yes having vendors is great, but being a crafter does not necessarily entitle you to a vendor. If you want to sell stuff via vendors you have to sacrifice skill points.
I myself like(d) it too. It just is crippling for people who want to PvE, or do crafter/smuggler (so they can slice armor/weapons they make). The problem is 3/4 of the tree is almost completely useless.
The vender tree is the only part that makes it useful at all, chaning clothing, getting barker droids, and merchant tents are all extras, but nothing that ever drew people into the profession, as it has no real benefit.
My other toon is a Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, Master TKA. Now I can't use stims or collect hides. I really want to do both of those things, and it would be more convenient if the medic and scout trees were rolled into marksman or brawler, but they aren't. It is the exact same argument.
Actually, you can do both, lol. They have droids that harvest for you and droids that will feed you stims... They also have very low use stim A's that anyone can use.
However, I do get the just of where you are coming from, not meaning to nit-pick on your example, just pointing this out.

All methods other than maintaining your own vendor (and paying the SP) right now are completely unviable. Small crafters will (and are) giving up, and the big ones will become bigger being willing to spend the extra for a second/third/forth account.
