Thread: Barker Droid + JTL bug?

I haven't used my barker droid for a while. Pulled it out today and jumped in my X-Wingto travel to another planet and my droid auto stored. Tried it a couple times and same results. Jumped on the shuttle to another planet and the droid didn't store. Anyone else notice that it seems you can't travel in your ship and have a droid bark at the same time?
Known since JTL Launch.
This is happening without the droid interface loaded in my ship.
Doesn't make any difference as the Droid Interface is for your ship Astromech Droid/Flight Computer.

I'm not suggesting that it shouldn't be addressed. Just pointint out that its not a bug.
Doesn't just affect Merchants either. Entertainres can't get their droids to join groups in space and they can't join them and get them to go into the ships with them either.

I don't know. I can only speculate that it was to fix some issue with Astromech droids in space but thats just a WAG.

If it's the"onedroid only" thingI can't use my ship to move from starport to starport either?

Actually, I can chime in on this subject and maybe shed a little light on it.
I was a JTL Beta tester, and my alt is a Droid Engineer. Well, there were a lot of people testing shipwright out, so I had him make a LOT of Shipwright MSE droids (easy to make, fast). I nabbed one for my DE to play with, to see what shipwright had to offer and to crate up a TON of texture/paint kits for testing. I generated the deed and made sure the MSE droid worked right with the shipwright tool.
Well, I put the Shipwright MSE droids on a vendor, then set out a Merchant Barker droid at Nym's Starport on Lok advertising them. I then proceeded to use the Travel option on the Starship Terminal to go to Theed, Naboo.
Once in Theed, I got some more Steel thatI needed from a Blue Frog, for starship texture kits and paint kits. Some guy walked up and asked if I could make him a starship, and I said yes. I pulled out my Shipwright MSE droid and put together an Ixiyen for him I believe. He thanked me and ran off.
But - wait a minute! I looked down at my MSE droid and then a thought occurred to me - what about my barking droid in Nym's Starport? Opened my datapad - he was still there, still called, still barking in Nym's. I effectively had 2 droids calledat once. I tried to call a storage MSE, but it said I already had the max pets out available.
I travelled via the Starship Terminal again and went to Rori, and called my storage MSE droid. That was 3 total out, at one time, but on different planets.
I did a /bug and reported it, so I'm partly to blame for this not working perhaps
But I specified that I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not (a barker on one planet and a crafter droid/strorage droid on another made sense).
I guess it wasn't intentional, and the Devs' simple solution was to make droids auto-store whenever using the Starship Terminal in any way. ![]()
I'd imagine it had to do with exploding droids and leaving them in a starport near a mark, then travelling and remote-detonating it. Justa hunch.
But that's why I think droids auto-store when using the Starship Terminal.
