Thread: New Merchant getting 0 xp

I have sold over 300 swoops on the bazaar and have received not one exp pt. I remeber bazaar giving you some experience (maybe it doesnt now). If not, how would you go about getting xp? im not trying to get merchant by tomorrow or anything, just would like to see small amounts of progress. Thanks.

back when the xp you get depends on your sale price...
but for all useful purposes, no xp from bazaar.

You have to have a vendor with maintance on it,You will get a big bulk terminal at Business 3 in Artisan.Than over time you will get exp.Also whenever someone pays an acess fee every 10mins you get exp and if someone looks on the vendor every 10mins.

You've said this a number of times but that isn't my recollection. It didn't give you any in beta when I tested it and I never got any after that from it either. I suppose its possible it did for a brief period of time but I highly doubt it.

I had crafted thru the artisan line, never having placed a vendor no set a fee on a building,
but from selling looted items and the clothingI could make on bazaar , my skill window did show Merchant XP.
I clearly remember asking Bob about 'how in the world did I get merch xp?' at that time and we found it was indeed from placing item ON the bazaar.

I cannot say when it was pulled, but I do think it was a short time ingame same as Tailor expermentation on clothes {where resources deemed condition}

Oh, it definitely worked that way but I'm pretty sure it had been changed by probably Nov 2003.
When I mastered Merchant I got xp every time someone bought something (I don't remember if there was a delay timer) from either a vendor or a bazaar. I'm almost certain it was changed because people were mastering it too fast during the hologrind because that's about the time it changed.
I'll have to go back through the patch notes and see if I can find anything.

I don't recall that at all even though I remember testing it during beta for that. I'll take your word for it though.

i am like the other guy who said "how did i get so much merchant XP?" all i had done was work my way up the pistol and unarmed trees to get to smuggler. i had no idea what i was going to do with the rest of my skill points, but as time went on i "got" merchant without really doing anything. in fact i had master about 3 months before the big holo grind. it took me 2 years to get master smuggler. and even then i respec'ed most of that. but anyways, bazaar used to give XP. now it dont.
