Does anyone know how to change the sign to their house? I've seen people with posts instead of the overhanging sign. I heard its a Merchant skill you need to do this. Anyone have any ideas?

They were correct the following is from DocSavag's Guide to the Merchant Profession. I suspect you can hire a merchant to do this for you.

Management I-IV: Each level of Management gives you +1 to "Manage Vendors" this skill allows you to place additional vendors. At Management IV you are allowed 6 vendors. This is the limit at this time. There is no additional Vendor Granted at Master Merchant. In addition each level of management gives you a new sign type to use for your structures. Sign #1 , Sign #2, Sign #3, Sign #4

from what I remember you have to be merchant yes, but youo also have to be the houses owner to change the sign, so you could transfer the structure to a merchant, have them change the sign type then give you back the house.

It is a merchant skill. You go to the structure terminal and there will be a "Change SIgn" option. Use that to change it. If you don't have the skills yet to change it and want it done, get another merchant you trust, make them admin and have them do it.

Unless they've changed it recently, I don't think the other signs will sit properly on the small generic style 2 (round) houses. They just float off in space.

To change the sign type all you need is to be on the admin list with the Merchant ability. This adds a new item to the Options radial menu of Change Sign. There is the default sign, plus four more.

Yes, you MUST be the owner of the structure. It has been changed for months.

This is incorrect. Months ago this was changed. Not only do you need the merchant skill, you must be the owner of the structure.

You need to be the owner to change the name on a sign; i.e. Set Name.

But all you need to be is on the Admin list to change the sign type (sign 1, 2, 3, 4). (Edit: And of course have the correct Mechant skill).

Cheers,

Martek
