No..they tend to yell it from the rooftops. There is precious little news they don't hide anything they are allowed to share.

Aye Pappi again...I don't think Elyssa needs a spokesperson -she's one of the best correspondents arround. You seem to be obsessed with putting down valid concerns of other players (something you did on the politicians forum too) and giving the devs a pass even with such huge game breaker bugs like these. If we're not upset and stop posting about this major bug it will never be fixed. And it's not the first time this very same bug got introduced - last time it was fixed with a hotfix two days later - makes you wonder... It's a disgrace - the devs havn't even acknoledged that they're going to hotfix this major bug asap.

... hmm?
I've never said these concerns are not valid or that the devs should ignore them, I'm merely stating that the correspondents always give out good news as soon as they received them. keep in mind that devs don't read these forums as much as the correspondents do, and they're doing their best to bug the devs for you. I just feel bad for the current correspondents since they usually become the target for information, but they don't have any to give until the devs pass anything down.
I've bugged the devs about sales tax since publish 8 to publish 18, so I know how it feels to have an outstanding bug that the devs don't seem to have the intention to fix. it doesn't make it right, but bugging the correspondent isn't the solution.

Plus, keep in mind that this is the functional equivalent of "are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet? are we there yet?"
If I had something to tell you, I'd tell you.
In fact, given the current method of communication through patch notes, odds are that you'll know that it's been fixed before I do.

Then again there are the "stealth fixes" that don't get mentioned in the patch notes.
Anybody notice that the Vendor Status Emails are correct now?
It wasn't in the patch notes.
The devs never said anything to me about it.
In fact, I'd have never known they were working again if someone hadn't PM'd me about it.
I've done all I can do about it.
Posting new threadsthat it's still broken every few days won't get it fixed any faster and that's why I don't generally bother responding to these threads.

So Pappi please direct me to the line in this thread that was demanding anything from the correspondent? There isn't - you brought it up. Why did you bring it up? One can speculate over this. Panjandrum complex? This thread is directed towards the devs. And believe me - if this forum gets flooded with threads on this issue they will notice it and they will notice that it is a big deal.

You're doing a wonderful job on the things you're doing on this forum as a correspondent. I don't think anyone expects you to post on these repetitivethreads. Everybody know that you've done what you can. Itshouldn't mean though that the topic is over and that the community can move on.While the correspondent hasher/histasks and duties the community hasitstasks too but most importantly it has no duties - so if something is wrong they have to speak out until it's fixed. The repetitive threads about this topic areneccessary tool. Because if nobody posts them the devs will just asume that it isn't a big deal and can wait or doesn't have to be fixed. I've been on the other side on game dev. If nobody posts about it anymore it's taken as a sign that it's something that can be neglected. That's why for example Jedi and BH are getting so much attention. The massive amount of people posting on these forums is the key. I sometimes ask myself why we havn't got the same amount of people on the merchant forums because there are a lot more merchants out there.

Jedi get attention for 2 reasons. 1) LucasArts feels they are the franchise and 2) Their game play has a profound effect on the entire system. BH get dragged in becuase they are the balance mechanism for the Jedi. It has nothing to do with how many posts there are on the Jedi forums.

Dev 1: "Hey, I got this email saying there's something wrong with merchant vendors?"
Dev 2: "Mer....chant?"
Dev 1: "Yeah, you know..those people who...sell.....stuff."
Dev 2: "There's still some left?"
Dev 1: "I guess that means it's alow priority fix."
Dev 2: "Fff.....iiiii...xx??"

If I violated NDA and told you some of the responses I got from Devs about merchant issues on the correspondent forums when I was a correspondent you would have a stroke and die..so I'll keep them to myself.

I should clarify that the responses could be categorized more under "ignorance" than under "malice" its not like anyone ever told me to get lost. (Well Thunderheart told me to shut up about global vendor item counts twice but he gave in eventually!)
