Thread: Im totally ruined

i just dont know what to do...just someone please help me i have no clue what to do....heres my story.I am tailor 0/1/1/0 and money comes really slowly. I hoarded for weeks and weeks and i got about 500k. Now me and 4 friends all work together as a company. One of us esentially handles all the resourses. Hes also a master pike. Being the richest in the group he asks me for 530k to buy a bunch of harvesotrs and a fusion. im relucant but he says hell repay as he can make that much in a buff session. so i give the money he buys them places them and startes them up. Now 1 day later hes done some missions and has well over enough money. I ask him for the money and he says that the harvesotrs were for all of us and therefor i payed the company. And in fact uv been the only one thats used the resourses so far and ud never be a tailor without my resourses. Then he says because i payed the company its not his money to repay and he doesnt owe me a single freakin cent. he also says that all the COMPANY can afford is 40k so im getting that and nothing else. period. he also calls me a bunch of stuff and how iv just been hoarding money all along. and now iv really got no money. i mean im sure for all you krayt ASes and suchthats a drop in the bucket but really youve gotta understand it took me almost a month to get that much. i just really dont know what to do. i mean iv known him for my entire carrear i cant like ban or something...i just dont know...any help is really appreciated. prolly im just an ass and i deserved it anyway.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Understanding the complete terms of the deal is something that should have been discussed before the loan was made. I find this best to be done in email so that both parties understand the deal. Since your partner believes he was spending company money I would ask to see his profits from the resources, if there is any profit from them yet. Ask him for a spreadsheet detailing the cost of the harvesters and show an interest in what he's collecting. Make sure to always hound him about the percentage the harvesters are setting on. Also request that he give you admin rights to the harvesters since they are company resources. In other words turn it around on him. Make him suffer to the tune of 500k which is alot of suffering if you ask me.

In ANY relationship, you MUST maintain trust. If you don't trust your partners then you should never be in business with them.
If he said he would pay you back or that you would see money in return for it then perhaps you should consider giving him some more time?
I understand the position completely though, it's a tough one to be in. If you simply can't wait, tell him that the 500,000c you gave him was every single penny you had. Perhaps he will have some compassion then.
If that doesn't work, ask him for a time frame. Ask him when you will at least see a minor return on your investment.

Two things I pulled away from your side of the story.
1. Assuming everything you've said is on the up and up, with no hidden details, that fellow isn't a friend of yours.
2. If he could make that much in a buff session, why didn't he go out and do it himself then?

Have you spoken to your other 3 friends who run the company with you? Bringing this out in the open to all of your business partners might be helpful in getting your credits back.

Yet another reason I'm burnt more and more by the lack of controls in this game. For the most part, it supports fraud implicitly and the devs refuse to change anything. They will not even implement any form of contracts for recording.

530k gets a lot of havesting power, where are all the resources going?
Storing resources by the million will just create a space problem, the company should be able to sell spare resources and repay your 'loan'.
I only have 2 heavy mineral extractors and they extract far more than I can grind and sell. I have 5 vendors in tents each selling 5-6 items a day.
When there is nothing spawned that I need, I set them going on the high% yields (esp metals), break up the proceeds into noob friendly amounts (like 500-3k) and sell through the bazaars at 2-3cpu. Reactive gas is a favourite for weaponsmiths if you havea gas extractor - 500 units for 6k sells very quickly (i.e. 150k if you have all 25 bazaar slots).

well in aswer to all that have helped me he didnt have the money on hand because he spends alot and he was buying like 3 heavys and a fusion and finnally the resourses are for us (between a as a tailor an arch and a de we use alot)

There was a time I loaned money but not anymore.
A previous guildmaster of mine swindled me out of 500k which they didn't pay for 3 months and had many times.
So I adopted a new policy....no more loans. Though I do still tip newbies on occasion as I feel moved to.

Miners irritate me more than anything. I've probably lost over 50 million to miners stealing from me over the past 13 months. You provide the harvs and they sit them for a fee. Two day later the person that's been nice to you for 3 months steals 10 heavy natural gas harvs. After the first 20 or so times I stopped giving them heavies to use. Finally I said screw it.

the guy sounds like an idiot. Pull outta the venture and demand 1/4 of everything.
There may be no way to recoup your loses but if that is his attitude now then he will do something equally foolish again. I would go it alone. If you are imperial then get some buffs and a weapon and do the themepark start. seel form fitting stocks, storm armor, flightsuit. Do jabbas and sell painting and bits.
You can get 500k like that, then get your own fusion and some heavies(i find mediums give more bang for buck to start with) and start selling resources.
find out what people want, check swgcraft, and mine away. if its good hoarde some, sell some. Get a contract to mine a specific resource for 3cpu or something. that way if they pull out you still have resource.
You don't need him. Its game you play to have fun, he stops it being fun. don't let him.

Get him to put you on admin on the harvies and then repossess resources to sell to pay off the company debt.
