Hi guys, yesterday I got a visit from a CSR to discuss items my venders had sacraficed to the evil gods of the stockroom. During our conversation, I brought up the resource bug and venders with him. Basically, splitting them and placing both splits on the vender results in a unsplit item, that looks split, and a ghosted image of the other split (that make sense?).

He said this was a known issue and was the result of the database not upgrading and acknowledging there was a split of resources. He didnt say when (if ever) it was to be fixed, but he did say that you can split resources and sell them, IF you wait 20 minutes after splitting them to put them on the vender. This gives the database (or whatever keeps track) time to upgrade itself with the split. He also said you cannot leave the current server you are on, but it shouldnt be a big deal since they are so big. So, basically no planet hopping while you're waiting I guess.

Nothing ground breaking, but I know a lot of merchants and buyers for that matter are afraid of buying resources off a vender. Hopefully, this helps someone...somewhere...

Thats fantastic to hear.... has anyone actually tried it out yet? I'm sort of unwilling to go through losing 78k of resources again. Make that completely unwilling. But, I'd sure like to put my NPC vendors back to work selling resources. Because the non-NPC vendors cost WAAAY to much!

Actually... can our correspondent get some sort of official confirmation of this?

Even if this workaround actually works, what buyer is going to trust this? I will NEVER buy resources from a vendor until there is ROCK SOLID confirmation of a well-tested fix in a patch.

Well, hopefully after I test it with some friends, my customers will. If for no other reason than I made sure they got every resource they purchased if they couldn't retrieve it. But, for most people, some OFFICIAL confirmation, or a REAL bug fix is required, and naturally so.

I might be ablt to test this tonight. Thanks for passing this information on. Does this mean that NPC vendors are on a different databse than the terminal vendors?

The amount of Money I pay per day to run my Terminal Resources Vendors kills me plus the items in it count against the item limits for houses where as the NPC's dont.



I will be testing this when I go in as well.

just got 50k energy split into 5*10

got 4 times paid and draw the lucky container that had 50k myself !

a merchant you trust ? not with those bugs.
