Is there any way to get a Vendor in a Private building? For example, if it's placed in a Public building and the building is then turned Private?

No. The only way to even simulate it is to put a large fee on entry to the building and place people by name in the entry list to allow them to get past it without paying.

50k at present. We've asked them to raise that and they said they would look at it, but it hasn't been addressed yet.

Used to be able to put 5+ million creditentry feeon houses, and then some schmuck went into a house and just paid the 5 million credits because he couldn't be bothered to actually read the pop-up screen, and he made a big scene about being robbed and such. So, in order to cater to the illiterate boobs carrying 5 million credits around with them, the limit was reduced to 50k, against the protests from all of the merchants.

Not entirely accurate. There was in fact an exploit that caused you to be able to gain merchant xp constantly with the entry fee system. This was fixed but while they were fixing those numbers they tweaked the entry amount as well. It was never announced that it was done for any purpose other than the developer working with it was already putting in other limitations and decided to put that one in as well. I spoke to the developer about that and he agreed that it was probably fine to raise it up some but he got pulled off to do something else and it hasn't gotten done yet.

Well, there may have been other reasons for capping it at 50k, but it occurred right after this thread beat the subject to death, and that is what I based my remarks upon:

Just out of curiousity, why can't you have a vendor in a private building? What would be the harm in that?

The stated reason was to discourage using them for storage. I don't think it is a particularly effective way to do that but that was the reason.
