Thread: 2 problems with my vendors.
1) This is not a bug and is working as intended. It is listed in the top issues list as something we would like changed. Your vendors do not get loaded onto the map until someone visits them for the first time after a server reset.
2) Vendor maintenance was not changed. If you're seeing the maintenance being deducted faster than expected, definitely /bug it with reproducable steps.
I havn't checked this and didn't think to. I'll log off away from my vendors and check this the next time I log back on (tomorrow).
I just got done submitting a /bug report, as my vendors just went from 12 hours left when I posted a bit ago to only having 6 hours left now. Lost 6 hours in a matter of 2. ![]()

What about vendor search? Items on your vendor will still appear in vendor search without someone loading your vendors, right?
nope
they will not show on bazaar nor overhead map until you load them into world.

I was able to search for items on my vendor even though they were not on the palnet map. So thats a good thing at least, and alleviates some of my concern about my vendors not showing up on the map.
Still, the more attention my vendors can get the better, so I would still like to see the vendor planet registering system work 24/7.
Thanks for all the replies and advice. ![]()

1) This is a bug - they're just too lazy to admit it. It's easier to say "it's working as intended" than to actually fix the problem. Nobody in their right mind would actually intend something like this. They may be trying to do the best they can given the dev time limitations and the technical limitations of the current game system, but to say "it's working as intended" is just a lame excuse to skirt the issue.
Bad design, but still working as designed.

I think bug is actually the most flattering word to use, as it at least assumes they have good intentions. I choose to believe that they actually have good hearts, but due to technical limitations, time limitations, or a finite budget, they are unwilling to fix the problem. The only way that this would be "working as intended" is if they intended to make a crappy system, or if they are psychotic (out of touch with reality).
I imagine they took a look at this and said "oh crap - this system sucks. But it's hard to fix. So we'll just say we meant to do it. Roll out the all too familiar "working as intended" line...". I'm not upset about it or anything. There are other bugs I care about more than this one. I know they have lots to do, not enough time to do it, and other professions impact their bottom line more than merchant. But for them to say "working as intended" is either malicious or psychotic.
If they intended to create a crappy system, then they succeeded and are done, but I choose to give them more credit than that. So I call it a bug. But whatever word you choose to use, it's a problem with the game that should be addressed instead of sidestepped.

Yes.
That's why it's included on the list.
I've included it on the bug list in hopes that it gets addressed faster even though it isn't "technically" a bug..
