I mean come on, if it wasn't for those vendor changes and us MASTER merchants could still have unlimited, this place would be jumping with joy, WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE NERF!?!?

I guess its just easier to nerf the Master Merchants then it would be to fix the exploiters.

How sad this really is.

Take away from all but let those that exploit contiune unpunished. What the hell are they thinking?

I've been a master merchant quite some time now, and without the cap on vendors i would have my faith restored in the game.

The skill is placing, not keeping or mantaining. Exploit is when one person has an advantage over anyone else. Everyone has equal chance to do this.

I don't know what you want to call it, but its not an exploit.

From the Community Standards

12. You will not exploit any bug in Star Wars Galaxies, and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug either directly or through public posting, to any other Sony Station member. You will promptly report such bugs via the /bug command in-game or by emailing [email protected]. Exploitable bugs include, but are not limited to bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits in-game.

From one of Thunderhearts 19 answers posts:

It was never intended for players to be able to keep and manage vendors after surrendering the Management skill boxes used to acquire them. This is scheduled to be fixed in a future publish and we want to upgrade vendors also, but it’s a bit early to start talking about that.

QED.

A bit too early, a bit too late you mean, that was posted in Aprl, problem should have been fixed from the start. Now after everyone has made it part of the gameplay, everyone now gets screwed bya few weeks notice. Or did you really mean it was too early, as it was too early as not enough people would have been put out by this change?

You're out of time, SOE The whole 2.5 months shouldn't have been. The game was fine up until Nov 15th. If the CU was worked on, instead of devoting time to the NGE (including the many months prior to November), the game could possibly be totally bug free by now.

My account cancels on 2nd Feb, which was a waste as only played game for 1 day to get the life day gifts, will be resubbing when creature handler, Bio-engineer, scout, and ranger return, oh and the FS village.

I think it's because we (merchants) were getting a little too powerful. We were pretty uber before, but once they threw in the spambots, we were just owning every other profession in the game. Throw in a crafting profession or combat profession like master brawler, and we were unstoppable. I don't know how many times I heard a jedi whimper 'Oh Sh*t - here comes Dimear the master merchant: Please don't kill me or spam me with your uber spambot or sell me too many items on your vendor with unlimited items...'.

If they didn't nerf merchant, everyone would want to be one. People were crying for the combat balance, and now that it's here, they're crying again...

Thus sayeth Dimear

Friend, your logic is flawed.

Everyone can buy cigarettes once over a certain age, does this mean we're all smokers?

Everyone can kill another person, but does this mean people who do kill not criminal?

Just because something is available to everyone doesn't reflect in any way upon the intention nor morality of the action.

No..I'm sorry but we've been telling everyone who would listen in this forum for 9 months that this was going to be fixed someday. If people chose to do it then fine they got 9 months of free vendors but its not an excuse to keep letting them do it.

Personally, i think its a way for cheap@$$ businesses likeSOE to cut cost on their database maintenance.... but thats just completly logical. Too bad it totally destroys a profession, and the market, we dont care (sony) more money in our pockets! HELL why not just limit us to 0.5 characters per account, maybe then we'll need 15 dollars to log in, and another 15 to play!

How about you, and sony take this merchant nerf, and shove it sideways up your %^&*, its total bull#$%@$ and you know it.

Iwill be cancelling all 3 of my accounts, and taking my business/gaming to Blizzard!

I have5 vendors total

One - has over 250 items with all my resources in it totaling 45 MILLION, that is only at 3 cpu max most is 2 cpu.

Two - has about 165 items with all droid items, batteries, heal packs, droids, paint kits so on.

Three - has about300 items with droid and weapons on it on a different planet.

Four - has over1200 items ALL LOOT ITEMS that sells at least 100 items per day. All for cheap prices.

Five - only 40 back packs, all packs have 50 items in it, this is my storage vendor WITH EVERYTHING I OWN WORTH EASY- 20 MILLION - in armor weapons crystals furniture harvesters loot kits ( ie rugs gongs ya know) Loot galore that is 2000 ITEMS

There is no way i have any room any where for all this stuff. ALMOST 4000 ITEMS

SOE what am I suppose to do? You told us this was an ok policy to use these vendors like this. Now some of us stand to lose Millions of credits worth of items. At the risk of sounding cliche - I have no idea what im going to do and there is a strong possibility of leaving this game do to the nerfing and our personal loss of items.

Here is the ironic part. Where is all this stuff going to go. I'm not talking about the loss now. Who is suppose to take it. Think about it if i sell it someone else has it. That means the totla number of items is still the same just not with me. when you lower the total number of items you bring the product to a lower level..

Supply and demand if supply is up cost is down. OMG simple economics. If supply is low price goes way up.

Please dear God tell me you DEVS covered stuff like this in college.

This is nothing more than an attempt at a COMMUNIST SOCEITY. A small group of rulers do what is best for the people.

WE live in democracy. WE THE PEOPLE pay your salary. DO NOT DO THIS NERF

Oh yea like merchant is like major uber..,, LIKE I saw a merchant take out like 10 no....wait like 15 Dark Master UBER Jedi and um Like VADER was leading them right and the merchant umm... right like slaughtered them all in one F.... BLOW

Yeah true, never really thought of that, it has been there all that time, so you have done your bit to let everyone know.

Me, I only realised this fact on Saturday, too busy playing the game to bother with the forums, until now, now the whole galaxies are in turmoil. Also seen the amount of views on that post? about 450 views yesterday, I think theres a few more than that playing! Also it even goes up twice if I look at it twice.

Would have been nice to have received an email on these updates, at that time too, after all the game registration has all our emails on record, wouldn't have been too hard would it?
