This change is competing withItem Decay in PvP for the "Most Idiotic Change Ever"-award.

The Kitten's Diary, Day 781: I have discovered a most delightful way of making life miserable for my captors. Yesterday, I ate the woman's precious begonia, and today I have dismembered the amaryllis in the bedroom window. She is furious over the loss of her darling house plants! I find it highly gratifying.

HORRIBLE!!!!!

I'm ok with implementing all of the other suggested changes EXCEPT the item limits....this will ruin the current game economy even more and force it into an on-game-recession with prices skyrocketing and quantities of goods and resources dropping dramatically

Those figures are way, way, waaaaaaaaaaay too low. I realise the devs cant so much as blink without getting flamed on these forums, but FOR PETE'S SAKE!

A great many intelligent alternatives have been suggested thus far. I really hope some of them get implemented, rather than what currently stands.

Resource sellers alone are gonna get crushed by this. No range, no variety, all their eggs in one basket. Not to mention WS, AS and the rest.

I don't understand why they try to fix things that aren't broken, or that certainly don't rise anywhere near the severity of other issues. Who manages priorities there? I have posted many times that we need a change to the management of this product, as they are incapable of making rational decisions. I mean people are screaming for combat balance, GCW, many, many, many, many bug fixes and this is the thing they comit resources too?

I am begining to think that with this change and the character transfer system that they are going to combine servers. This is the only thing I can think of as to why this change has been worked on. If we are paying, why don't they increase their precious database?

This is a bad change as it will:

  • Make crafting less fun because of constant restocking

  • Make it impossible to display a broad range of products.

I imagine their priorities are allfinancially based. For instance they can comit resources to GCW, combat balance etc, all very nice, the existing players are happier maybe but short term possibly not much financial incentive so it can wait a while. Struggling with server loads however and they have the choice to invest in more equipment, or slash the current server loads and save some creds. Instant action taken via a kswift kick in the nuts for the paying customer.

I think I can understand their thinking conceptually. With item limits (and the other merchant changes), it will require people to pay more attention to their vendors if they wish to continue selling merchandise instead of sticking the brick in the corner, naming it UBER DE DOOBER REOURCES then using it as a bank and never actually stocking goods in it.

I do think having NO item limit is negative for server resources and for unintended item storage.

Do I think the item count should be that low? No, I don't, but it's just as easy to put a little of everything on a vendor and keeping surplus in crates to me. I don't really see what the big deal is.

Well, here is my thoughts, and I'm a conspiracy theorist so bear with me. Here a short while ago, after the announcement that the combat revamp was delayed, a large number of people quit the game. How many exactly I don't know but let's estimate between 3-5K accounts. (Hell my guild lost 40 people!!) There has been talk that server merging may be taking place if JTL is not an instant success. My feeling is this, they are implementing this to handle the large influx of merchants and merchandise when the server merges happen. Therefore, they limit the amount of info that has to be handled by each server when they copy your toon over. Just a thought.

I have 9 vendors with two of my chars and I have 5 chars in all. How do I get even one full suit of armor of each type on a vendor? How do I stock enough stims? How do I get enough furniture and structures on a vendor at once? What this means for me is constant crafting, nothing else, just chained to my crafting station. As it is now, I can craft enough to make people happy, then spend some time hunting for the harvested resources I'll need for the next round. I won't have that time now. No, this is not my idea of fun. 100 or 110 items isn't even close to what we need to stock. All my vendors presently run between 250-500 items each. This item limit is way too low. It will never work for me.
