Well, am feeling a bit silly here =(......I often travel for RL work (3-5 day trips) and during that time had some auctions that did not sell, this going to my stockroom. I returned from work trip and found items had poofed even though I had "Auction Unsuccessful" E-mails so I knew they had not been sold. I contact CSR to request reimbursal and they inform me that the stockroom longevity is only 24 hours and after that the stockroom auto-empties!! ZOINKS! I had no idea on this =( and can't remember seeing it in patch notes. I lost about 250k worth of merchandise (Including some guns and SEA's I was trying to help a friend sell). I feel so silly I didn't know this.

Am I crazy or did I just miss this bit of info.? I know I have kept things in the stockroom longer in the past =(

Bummer

It's unfortunate that most people find out about the poofing from the stockroom the hard way.

Okay, it used to be at least 3 days. Now it's 24hours?! The only reason to do this change without notifying anyone is to screw over merchants. This is unacceptable... fug

My heart goes out to to you Ulic =( and I hope you get a better response than I did. I wasn't so much upset about the amount I lost (although no one likes losing earnings of course), but rather that it was my friend's items I was trying to help him market (his time and such that went into it). At least I feel a bit better that I didn't just somehow completely miss the boat on this one, as it seems from the answers here that this was not a well known change. When I wrote back to the CSR asking exactly where this change to the stockroom was announced, he did not respond, but rather just said "sorry there is nothing we can do"...not even a one time reimbursement so you will know next time kind of thing...very disheartening =(. Seems like a stealth nerf going on here, and why they wouldfeel the need need to nerf merchants is beyond me! Since I travel quite often, guess I will have to withdraw all sales and repost before I leave each time =/.

Thanksto everyone for your responses though!

Marqie Can u verify this change from 72 hours to 24 hours? If so this in combination with out 7 day experation means u cannot take a single day off from the game and is a huge problem!

Thanks

This is both confusing and frustrating. I left a fusion generator because I was making up a large order for a customer. I thought that I had 7 days before it would auto-empty itself. That was last Tues. On Thursday I discovered that it was gone. The CSR told me that the storeroom only held items for 72 HOURS and would auto empty after that!Because of this they were sorry for my loss, but would not be replacing it. At this point I would be tearing out my hair if I had enough to grab hold of.

So which is it now, 24 or 72 HOURS?! Since we have now received two different timesfrom the CSRs, it is obviousthatwe can't trust them to know. Does anyone care to test it out on....some foraged food maybe? It would be nice to know all of the PENALTIES in the game before they actually happen to us. I have experienced so many losses I am nearly numb from them.

This is beyond ridiculous.

They need to a) make the stockroom hold stuff for at LEAST 3 days, and tell us officially when it is implemented, b) extend sales time to 14 days, and c) fix the missing emails so we know when things are in that stockroom.

It is not fun to *have* to log in daily just to make sure your vendor is doing what its supposed to do (not to mention resetting vocal and planet ad *whistles*). This is supposed to be a game, not work. And the boasting about 'you can be a casual gamer and still get alot out of SWG' is becoming a hilariously deluded concept.

Out of sheer curiosity, I asked CSR Preston just now in chat what the stockroom auto-empty timeline is and he says "7 days, but we have had reported bugs from 24 hours-3days". So, my question being...if this is actually a known bug,why do they refuse to assist players at the mercy of this? And, why would the CSR's answering in-tickets be a.) so uninformed or b.) too lazy to assist anyone? My apologies for the frustration, but as most of usare crafters/merchants, we seem to have had our fair share ofbugs to "overcome"=/.

Chump change. I lost over 1.5 million credits worth of stuff. Some from stockroom poofing, and some from just poofing. Put it up for sale on Friday (usually sell out in a day), went back yesterday, and the vendor was empty, no stock in the stock room, no e-mails on sales (well a handful, but not every item), and no credits in the bank for the missing items.

I submitted a ticket, we'll see what happens.

All I have to say is

I've never played a game, no matter how long the time period is, that just deleted your products without giving you any warning at all.

And I've never read about this 'feature' anywhere. I found out about it the hard way like many other people.

It's kind of important, it should be prominently displayed somewhere.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

I had a CSR tell me it was 3 days in a ticket today. I added a comment complaining that it was said to be 7 and that if it'd changed, then we needed to have that communicated to us. I doubt that I'll get much of a response. I can deal with the loss of items -- it was only about 20k worth of resources since I sell most of them on the bazaar and just put things on that vendor that I know the nearby merchants might need, but it's still annoying, and a bit nerve-wracking. And mostly, I'm frustrated that we can't seem to get a consistent answer on this. If it's 24 hours, fine. I think that's stupid and needs to be changed, but I can deal with it in the meanwhile if I just know.

Not being able to let this issue go, I responded back to my original ticket asking for further clarification, and this time received an answer telling me that there is no "bug" and that by design, there is a 3-day auto-empty feature, and that perhaps I should read the patch notes and boards more frequently to stay informed (DOH!). I consider myself a well informed player, frequently reading the boards and always reading the patch notes (and "In Development" notes)- this just seemed very condescending to me, but ya know......I searched the boards and patch notes from the past tonight. I cannot find any mention of 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days, or anything =(. I am going crazy here! For now, I am able check my vendor daily, but it is beginning to feel like a second job.
