Brekkee - *Ohafi* May I ask if the issue of vendor item limits has been addressed and if so, what are the proposed limits and when do they plan to put them into effect?
TH - Vendor item limits are in progress. I have a meeting monday to discuss the community's concerns with the programming team. I am confident that vendor limits will be increased. The per-vendor limites will remain, though I will work to get as convenient a limit as possible for the players. I understand what it means to be able to conveniently manage your products.

Seems to be like TH justs aid the per vendor limit (110 at master) will remain.. Thank god for JtL comming soon, because if the limit remain, i am dropping all crafting, I recomend SOE to add a limit on the amount of missions ppl can do per day too..

I think you're parsing the statement wrong. I read that as indicating that there will likely be no aggregate limit (say, 2000 total regardless of how you distribute them), and we'll be looking at a limit that pertains to each individual vendor.

However, it does look to me like the actual NUMBER that the limit will be is being negotiated upwards right now. I read that as it WON'T be 110 per vendor, but some higher number per vendor.

And it better be a much higher number. If it's less than 450 per vendor, I'll be taking a LOT of monthly subscription money somewhere else.

I have stopped making goods till they announce what the final limit numbers will be. There's no sense in creating new inventory if I can't stock it.

However, I hope that the limit increase will reflect fairly upon the majority of the player base. The only profession that I can think of that would be held back with ANY type of vendor limit are tailors; simply due to the large number of possible color combinations. I feel your pain.

Ok this means the limits will be increased to a new number.

The per-vendor limites will remain, though I will work to get as convenient a limit as possible for the players. I understand what it means to be able to conveniently manage your products.

This means that the limits will still remain per vendor basis but he is going to get us more of a number we can live with and not 110

I would not drop crafting and panic until this flushes out.

Hey, I'm all for vendor limits . . .

as soon as they make it necessary for the combat types to reload their weapons (plus they have to wait 15 seconds after reloading before they can shoot again) . . .

and everyone has to eat something every day . . .

and all clothes serve some function other than just for looks . . .

and pets have to be fed regularly or else they die, even if they are still in the datapad (if it happened to my swoop bike, why not pets?) . . .

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

Good to hear a positive statement on this, but I wish the TH or someone would post here on the boards with something like that.

Today is the 13th, and the patch is supposed to go live on the 24th. that's 11 days to get this settled.

And I've stocked a few things, but I definetely havn't been in the mood to ramp up a new run of armor. Not until I hear some good news reguarding the vendor limits.

ahh.. ok.. i interpered it as if the vendor limit as it is now was set, thanks for correcting me.

I do however still belive SOE is making an unfair nerf..

only reason to nerfg merchants this way is to let new crafters and merchants get a chance.. and i think this is unfair..

some of us has worked hard.. been paying $15 (or more) every month for 1 year to build up our customer relationship..

why should they hurt us just because we are popular.. it is just so unfair..

They are darn lucky I am not the merchant corespondant.. if I had been.. i would brought a big hard nerfstick of metal

and chased them all arround their office when they invited me to austin.. I hope Doc has somehting simular planed

for SOE when they fly him to austin, usa to meet the developers..

I just cancelled my pre-order for 10 copies of JTL. I just placed a pre-order for World of Warcraft. If the merchant nerf stays, I will cancel my 11 SWG accounts and play WoW instead. End of discussion.

I don't know what's sadder, the fact that you pay for 11 accounts, or the fact that you would need 11 accounts.

LOL, how many people called this.

Is it a con-job, used carsalesman tactics, or just slick PR? Anyways looks like to me they had a number in mind the whole time, they low-balled it, let the outrage swirl for a few days, and now are coming back to "listen to the concerns of the community".

So now they will raise the limit to the number they intended all the time and be "sensitive to the opinions of the community".

There were several posts predicting this and they were right. Too bad the developmentteam feels they have to bluff and con their player base instead of being honest.

And for the posts that will follow in the next couple of day praising the devs for listening, its the exact opposite. The devs had a number in mind, they are going to get that number and theymanipulated it to be praised for it. They had no intention to listen to the community, they just wanted it to keep the community quiet.

That in essance is lieing to the community. They really do not care about your concerns, they just want to keep you as passive as possible.

110 items at master merchant is BAD. As it is, this patch will probably wipe out 80% of the vendors out there, many of which have goods to be sold. That stuff has to go somewhere, and I just don't feel that the perks of Master Merchant are strong enough to draw that many people in just to have 110 items per merchant.

It seems to me this whole thing is really going to change the player economy. I'm not so sure that's a good thing.

Strictly speaking, no one NEEDS any accounts. It's my money and I'll spend it however I see fit. The main difference is that I won't be spending it on SWG.
