Thread: Bug: Items Stuck in Ghost World on Vendor NPC
When I began the process of upgrading my vendor to an NPC vendor, I had a little "boo boo". I'd put about five items on the new NPC (not to mention the maintenance credits I put in... grrrr) when I went to check on her "status" to see if the maint. rate was going up. As you probably no, there is NO confirmation box on the "destroy" option, and my mouse slipped and.... bye bye vendor.
Ok, so I figure I'm just going to eat the loss of those five items. I should point out at this time that a customer had mistakenly left an item he bought on my previous vendor without retrieving it. (Droid type vendor). He was never mad at me, said it was his own stupid fault, etc. but I felt bad. Problem is, the item was a house deed, so we're not talking peanuts here.
Ok. Back to the story. So I create a new NPC vendor. I get her placed properly, maintenance paid, initialized, and I open up the vendor menu. Lo and behold... my items are there in the inventory! OUTSTANDING, I think to myself. Good job fixing that, devs.
One small problem: I am the only person that can see those items and they are not accessible in any way by anyone, including me. I can load more items on and they can be seen and purchased by all. But while I can clearly see the "ghost items", nobody else can. And if I move them to the stockroom and try to retrieve them, I get hung at the black "retrieving item" screen indefinitely.
If I go to a public bazaar terminal and look at "available items" I can see these items listed as available with the listed location being that of my house. Also, at a bazaar terminal, the previously mentioned customer can see his house deed under his available items. He's come back several times to check, but to no avail.
Can anything be done to retrieve, or at the very least, eliminate these ghost items? It's messing up my inventory. Emptying everything else, deleting the vendor, and making a new one did not clear this problem. Server has restarted since then, and the problem continues.
I'll let you know if I hear anything back. No, I'm not holding my breath. I haven't gotten a response on a CSR ticket since the first week of the game.
The reason you can see the items but no one else can, is... they are bound to the area, so show in the "This Region" option, but if you select "This Vendor" (which is the only thing people using the vendor who don't own it see), you'll see they are not there.... they are not on ANY of your vendors, they are still linked to the destroyed vendor at the location it was at. If your vendors worked like the bazaar, and you could retrieve items from the area instead of just from the specific vendor, this would sort of fix itself in a way (still would be issues, but it would at least be workable) but right now, there is nothing you can do.
You can sell them from your stockroom just to get them out of that list and out of the bazaar (these DO take up space in your 25 bazaar limit
As do offers to vendors)... you will see them in the "by region" list on your vendors, so you should probably get in the habit of using the On This Vendor option to keep from getting confused.
I've had multiple CSR tickets, and the CSRs can't help. They can't even destroy the objects, nor can they retrieve them.
I did notice an announcement post saying they would refund market value for lost items, I'm not sure if this will constitute as a lost item or not, but if it does, CSRs may soon be able to at least do SOMETHING about these, but not sure you'll ever get it back... at least, not as it is now.
My problem stemmed from upgrading buildings... I went through the PAIN of removing all items from 7 vendors (multiple people sharing the shop) and finding places for them all... but several things were unretrievable, period, so we had to take them as losses and destroy the vendors anyway. ![]()
*sigh* I want to whine about paying to beta test... but I won't... really... um... yeah. ![]()
I found it. CSR Justin

Kam_Revel,
There are a couple of things we can do to get this situation fixed:
First, we need to get your items replaced. I’d like you to open a ticket in-game using the Holocron (CTRL-H), click the Customer Service button and then the New Ticket button. Fill out the form and list what has gone missing or is stuck in the vendor. In-game support can replace many items and for those that can not be we have the ability to replace the credit value.
Secondly, can I get you to /bug this issue? In game simply type /bug and it will bring you to a report form. Fill it out and be as specific as possible.

I copy and paste my message from another thread as it looks more appropriate here...
Well, looks like i m another victim of the bug.
I wanted to change my vendor from machine to npc. So i put all weapons in the backroom and a destroyed the machine. Then i put the npc, nice looking calamari, and i just put items in the stockroom for sale. I didnt check anything and didnt undertand why my sales were so low.
When i saw a customer after coming back from hunt, i ask him how he likes the new vendor. He answered cute but..abit empty. I checekd and no weapon was displayed even tho on the region option they did show up. so i withdrew them from sale and tried to retrieve them. NO WAY! Impossible to retrieve. 400k worth of stock.
actually the items are shown as follow ; item.planet.planet instead of item.planet.location so the server doesnt identify them as being on the vendor and you cant get them back.
Is there a way to have somebody intervene to get back your stock.I mean i jsut cant buy anything back..i spent it all on stock..and i cant display my stock!
My problem is that I was moving into a better house on the other side of the planet and taking down the old one to regain those lots. So now when they do implement a fix I have to what... rebuild a house at the old location... place a vendor and retrieve those items floating in ghost world?
So here we are. Almost a full month later, since the last post about Ghost Items. I thought it was just me, or my vendor, but when I started researching this "Ghost Item" problem, I wound up here. I have 40 items on my vendor that I cannot retrieve. Much like other players out there, I got the next level of management, and wanted new and interesting vendors. But I didn't retrieve my items before deleting the old vendor. Why? I just didn't occur to me that I HAVE TO RESEARCH EVERYTHING I DO, in case there is a bug. I like this game, but I'm getting a little tired of paying to be a beta tester.
My 2cr worth!

An update on my hasty demolition of my store on Yavin IV.
Suddenly all the auctions in that vanished store are expiring, and the items are now visible on the Bazaar. Unlike the last time I did this, I have no way to get them back from ghost world limbo, as I can't even build on Yavin and place a vendor. It's going to affect my ability to buy things on the Bazaar, I suspect...
Good news is that it doesn't affect your bazaar limits. Bad news is that CSR's still don't know how to deal with this.
I got a reply finally, suggesting that replacing the vendor with one named the same as the original would, after a server reboot, give me access to my items.
That didn't work. And then they deleted my ticket. ![]()
I guess all we can do is keep /bug-ing and creating new tickets for this. At the bare minimum, they need to change the default location filter selection from "this region" to "vendor", so fewer new merchants are hit with this bug.
