Thread: Vendor items listing on Bazaar

If items listed on our vendors aren't going to show up on the bazaar any more, it's going to be pretty damned close to impossible to sell anything.

Is this the way it's supposed to be?

Impossible? Have you looked at what the Merchant gets?

"advertise thier vendors on the planetary map. The option to 'Register Vendor' on the planetary map appears in the Vendor Control menu."

"the Merchant can hire NPC's in cities to advertise their wares and vendors"

So basically I create a vendor an wait for, oh, 3.65 YEARS before I get that ability?

Without people shopping, this is worthless.

Good point. If the exp was working I wouldn't mind the bazaar thing but since it's not we can't get the skills to compete.

As far as I know this never, EVER worked in beta. Why it would now I have no clue.

"the Merchant can hire NPC's in cities to advertise their wares and vendors"

I thought they had axed this ability?

I'd still like to know what they did between the end of beta and now. At least the retrieving problem had been pretty much squashed and everything had finally started popping up on the bazaar. Now both things are bugged out. Not to mention the supposed "speeding" up of merchant xp. LOL

You're right, they did. I'm not sure where he's getting his information from. Unfortunate but true. They replaced it with yet another ability to reduce certain fees... Great, just what Merchants need.

Even if we were getting XP at 5 for 5 like before, it's still stupid. I mean, why not just let me pay for all the XP at once on the vendor maintenance? Why would I want to run a store with nothing in it for ever just so one day I can sell something. Even if they do show up on the map, that still isn't going to drive people there like the bazaar purchasing will.

Without the listings at the bazaar terminals this is just worthless.

The merchants vendors should not be used by u...but by crafters. Weaponmakers, armormakers, etc. We are merchants..we dont make stuff. The bazzar is so full of stuff, that real crafters shouldnt want to sell there items on the bazzar. Give it some time and they will realize they can sell more items through you than they can on the bazzar. They give us items, we work on advertising and getting there products sold, so they can work on more important things...like crafting. I think the exp is fine...unless you dont get more as you sell more stuff. I figured it was based on the amount of business you were doing, which is fine by me, thats the way it should be. If I'm not correct..someone say something.

I do think that the DEV's need to look at making it more attractive for crafters to sell there stuff through merchants. IE, give us some ability that makes it so they SHOULD be using merchants to sell there stuff.

And what is your advice for people who plan to play both a crafter and a merchant? It isn't feasible to play just a merchant at this point - you would die of boredom (and old age) before you even reached Novice.

My goal is Master Architect and Master Merchant. I think these two compliment each other quite well.

Actually crafters DO have a reason to find merchants. The bazaar has a 3K cap on price.

And vendor items did stop appearing on the bazaar at the end of beta. Now thisn't isn't a huge issue for a starting merchant, because until you set up your supply chain, you can only support so many customers anyway. Reputation is going to mean a lot, so you will need to keep the store stocked. This can become quite the chore without a proper supply chain.

Now, once that is set up, I do want the items viewable on the bazaar.

So, perhaps at Novice Merchant or somewhere on the first tier merchants get the ability to have their items appear on the bazaar of the closest town.

Then as we progress, the vendor can appear at a planetary, and then galactic level.

Thoughts?

When did they change it in beta? With two days to go using the planet view I was buying furniture from vendors.

Items not showing up on the bazaar is such a stupid thing to have happen. Why even bother with the class then? They could not do much to start with and now they can't do crap.

have to agree with MrSloth and anyone else who thinks the same here. If the stuff isn't going to show up on the bazaar then it is really more effort than it is worth, especially since none of these supposed magic abilities in the mouse over descriptions work, and that is even assuming you could ever get them!

Besides who is going to run out to a vendor listed on the map as "Rifle Vendor" when for all they know it could only be stocking CDEF rifles? The whole point of the bazaar is so you know what you're buying and where to go to get it. Merchant items should show up there.
