Thread: Has it begun?
Hrmmm... reading a thread on the main board...

Sounds like maybe the vendor change went live?
Any confirmation?
it has. my venders were all damaged this morning before the reboot when I checked them. I had even put in maintinence last night and it was all gone.
That's really cute...
So I suppose I have to run home on lunch break to save my store?
Thanks for the warning A-Holes!
Well...I'm on Vacation with my Daughter Visiting my Folks. I have computer access but their pc is in no way able to play the game, so I've been keeping up on this issue. I first heard of it while away ( Sunday or monday night I believe) and as of yet, have not been able to play to check the vendors. If they have in fact implemented their ridiculous and almost juvenile maint costs on vendors..I'm Screwed. I will not be able to get to the game till late this evening. I'll have no stock, no vendors, and I'm sure ( due to some un-forseeable relative bug that also affects structures as a whole) no house or harvesters.
I Have Had Enough
I Love this game...even through the bugs and nerfs...But to take a prefession that I've chosen and worked hard for and Destroy it ( not virtually destroy..not almost destroy..but Totally Destroy) without even the least consideration for the actual people who PAY you to play this game..Is Un-Imaginable!
I'm not the kind of person to give up and quit..nahh, that would make you the winners. so heres what I'm gonna Do!
I call on Every Player...Everyone who's been Screwed by the Silent Devs, and Ignorong CSR's...and contact your favorite PC gaming magazine. Wether it be PC Gamer, Computer Gaming World, what ever. Write them a letter ( E-mail probably) explain the total lack of respect the players of this game have from the developers. how they ask for input..then ignore it. How, when theres a problem from server crashing, not being able to connect, etc...we ask and ask and ask for even just a sign that they're aware of it and a re working on it...yet are ignored!
I'm sorry if this message is dis-joiinted and dificult to read..I'm just at the point of calling SOE and screaming at a live operator just to get the frustration out of me! Maybe the threat of public knowledge affecting future players ( and subsiquently..payers) will cause them to listen to us more carefully.
I honestly cannot think of another way to get our point across.
If anyone can think of another way...please...I'm all ears and willing to Try!

It does not appear to have started for me.
Logged on about an hour ago, noted that rate was still 1, had 6855 credits paid up.

Server: Chilastra
Vendor type: NPC Human in 2 lot house - only vendor owned
Min value of an item in the vendor : 125cr
Max value of an item in the vendor: 20,000cr
Total items in vendor: 19
Total value of items in vendor: 106,000cr
No, it has not started yet. I have enough on my vendors to cost me 7500 cr a day in fees, and I just logged in after 15 hours off and my vendors still show 0 maintenance rate.
As a safety net, I've placed enough money in each vendor to cover 1 day of fees under the 1/1000 rule so that I don't loose the factory's and medium houses and harvesters from my vendor. They represent a great deal of resources and time and I would simply quit if I lost them.
I'm hoping that the lack of a Dev response is a good thing as they scramble to make changes to the proposed fee implementation.....I hope...
Now I am one box away from Master Merchant, so perhaps the vendor savings have kept me from seeing a fee change?
The maintenance on my npc vendors has not started, it currently remains the same as it has been; 1. If it went through this morning it may not affect current vendors ( to save folks like the one above on vacation) but willaffect any new vendors you create.
I wonder how long I can keep these same cheap workersup...indefinatly.......
Does anyone know if Kettemoore is some sort of post-test/pre-release server? I noticed the changes to vendor maintenance about a week ago. My maintenance rates were in direct proportion to what I had listed. If other servers are setting vendor maintenance at a rate of 1 regardless of items listed, then this leads me to suspect that Kettemore (and perhaps a few other servers) are further up on the rollout list.
Can anyone confirm?
Thanks,
Convene
Atibus,
May I ask....
What type of vendors were you using?
Do you have merchant skill levels or do you simply have through the Artisan Business levels?
I am trying to figure out why I saw that increased vendor maintenance almost a week ago (either Friday or Saturday of last week).
I was using a terminal vendor & had Business IV at the time. Admittedly, after seeing the spike in maintenance costs, I quickly removed all but one of the items. Though with just the one item, I had a maintenance rate of 15. After selling that final item a few days ago, I took down the vendor and just have an uninitialized "message board" vendor, so I am not sure what the state of the maintenance algortithms may be at this point.
Thanks,
Convene

I have 350k of items on there, so should be paying in excess of 9k credits in maint per day according to the new system.
