Thread: Two Questions Vendor Bags & Giving Stuff to Guildmates Only
A1. "Vendor Bags" are just putting items in a backpack or satchel or such and putting the container up for sale on the vendor. You are selling the backpack, not the contents as far as the vendor is concerned. The DEVs put a warning message in the game to tell the player that they risk buying a backpack with little of value in it. There is no way for the person shopping to see what is in the vendor. People usially name the backpacks what the contents are. Such as "Full suit red advanced composite armor 80% kinetic" or "Full set of doctor wound packs" or "Full set of doctor buff packs" etc etc.
A2. There is no way to prevent John Q Public from buying off your vendor. Currently there is no way to limit who gets to buy an item you place on the vendor. You cannto set a house private that has a vendor in it, nor can you set individual items on the vendor to be for certain players only. If you have a backpack marked "Billy armor", I'd still be able to buy it even though I am not Billy.
Vendors only show up on planetary map if you want them to and you register them on the planetary map.

I have thought about putting a private vendor inside a gungan head. This way only your guildmates will know to look there.
You can see vendors on the overhead map, so it could be found easily...
Thx very much for the info - good news re "vendor bags" - bad news re private entry etc.
Perhaps I should just keep the vendor a secret, trust nobody but guildmates know to go in, either that or put everything on at 9999999 credits price, with a note that guildmates can have 'em for 1c.

The only way to restrict access is to make a building private and then add people to the entry list. Once a building is private you can not place a vendor inside it. Nor can you make it private once there is a vendor in it.
However, I just went back through the threads and found a possible solution: Apply a huge (50k?) access fee to the building. Then, give your PA members access. Apparently, this makes only them exempt from the access fee.
What about in a PA Hall ?
Can't you restrict access to the PA Hall to PA Members only? Couldn't you get Admin rights from the PA Hall owner and then put a vendor inside it? Would non-members be able to get inside to use that vendor then ?
Thanks!

Didn't they put a (rather low) limit on access fees in last patch or the one before?
Yes. A couple of months ago it was lowered to 50k..I've asked them to raise that back to something in the 2000k range at least but I haven't gotten any where with it yet.

So make the building public but add an entrance fee, then add people you want to use the shop to the entry list? This might work, though rich people would go inside anyways probably.
I tried this yesterday. It does appear to work.
Thanks!!
