a) First Aid Ability

First Aid (2) gives the "first aid" ability to heal bleeding.

Though!! I noticed that one application of "first aid" does not seem to stop a bleeding. Seems you need two applications.

b) My limited data gathering on Stim B vs Stim C

Personally I am doing: First Aid (2) and Pharmacology (2); I also have (soon) Organic Chemistry (4).

But I do not yet know how much "Medical Use" - gained from Pharmacology - is needed to use a Stim C.

I think well made Stim Bs heal 200+, while well made Stim Cs are 400?

I am currently making Stim Bs which heal 130 to 160.

Though, with a 100-120 heal Stim B I can get lucky heals of up to 200 sometimes. But also real crappy heals..

c) Skillpoints

First Aid (4): 2+3+4+5 = 14 skillpoints
Pharmacology (4): 2+3+4+5 = 14 skillpoints
First Aid (2) + Pharmacology (2): 2+3 + 2+3 = 10 skillpoints

Summary: it would help if someone posted how much "Medical Use" is required for Stim Cs and Stim Ds.

woops, skipped the PvP optic answer..

I got killed a couple of times. -- The summary of my PvP experience.

And I grouped one time, and kinda had to heal there. --Almost as big experience with grouping as with PvP.

To heal OTHERs efficiently in a PvP or grouping situation you have to be really quick with targeting your friendlies, and your healing skills have to work "quick".

This means you would need the Diagnose skill tree in adition to First Aid in...

Well, you better be a Doctor to heal OTHERs in a PvP setting, or when doing serious PvE raiding.

This leaves healing yourself in emergencies or downtimes, or getting incapacitated buddies up again.

I think with the limited part-time medic skills using the biggest Stim available will work best.

I was thinking that the Pharacology tree improved your ability with using stims and wound packs, whereas the First Aid tree improved your ability using /tendwound and /tenddamage.

First aid will give you higher overall heals. Pharmacology is only going to allow you to use higher level meds. If you can afford it, Pharma IV and FA IV are a great combo, and worthwhile for most people that have a tendancy to solo.

At Pharmacology IV you have 40 med use skill. That means you can use C stims andD stims that have been experimented on for Ease of Use. Using low OQ parts I have been able to make C stims with 461base heal and 42 charges. A CH friend with Pharma IV and FA IV heals for 1200 with those on his pets.

Look for doctor crafted stims if possible, docs have much better experimentation to use on them, therefore higher heals.

I have a similar question.

Which is better

Using stim B's with FA IV

or

going Pharmacology IV for Stim C's (with no FA)

Pharm IV Stim C's with no FA is better most of the time. However, you do not get the /firstaid skill to heal bleeds if you go that route. If you only have 14 points to spend, I'd get First Aid II for /firstaid and Pharm III to use Stim-Cs. You won't be able to use Stim-D's, but getting Doctor crafted Stim-C's will allow you to do some good size heals.

Anyone who doesn't use bleedshots in PVP when they're available is doing something wrong. However, in one on one duels you won't really get a chance to use first aid to heal your bleeding without losing some valuable time... Unless of course you can hide behind something and make your opponent lose sight of target. In big PVP battles it's easier to fall back a bit and use first aid.

lol Fa II and pharm 3 is better then FA 4 or just Pharm 4...

best of bother worlds...

but for pure healing power pharm 4...

for best healing abilities fa2 pahrm 3 takes the same pointsas fa 4 or pharm 4
