I just started a medic and have a couple of questions so here wego:

1) I had the first tier trained and went into the medical center to get training and some xp. When I diagnosed and tried to healed a couple ppl, I got the msg that it would not be advisable to try to heal them. Is it because they were too badly hurt (a lot of black in their ham bars) for me to heal them because me skills were so low? I was able to heal some others there that weren't as hurt. A couple of them I couldn't heal were overt, and I am neautral with no faction at all.

2) How does quality or type of inorganic and organic materials effect the healing power of stimspacks? I want to make the bestfor my useand to sell. I plan to use my own harvestors to gather my ingredients.

3) and lastly... What are the pros and cons of being a doctor or combat medic? I haven't decided which I should become.

thanks

1) AFAIK Thats definitely faction related. Im not sure what the exact rules are however.

2) A lot. the 2 main qualities you want to be looking out for are Overall Quality, and Potential Energy.

3) The Pros for Combat medic are the ability to use Poisons, ranged healing, and Area of Effect healing.

The Pros for Doctor are buffing people up (can be up to +1000 to each stat), the Ability to Revive deathblown PC's, and pure healing power (can make more powerful stimpacks).

Its a fairly tough decision, I chose Combat Medic just because I thought it sounded cool

It is possible to have a very good hybrid character. My character is the following:

Master Combat Medic

The two middle trees from Doctor which allow me to enhance stats, revive players, and use the best medicines.

Pistoleer skills which allows me to actually participate in and be effective in combat.

I still have Scout only to keep Explorer and it's Terrain Negotiation bonus but once that is given to Combat Medics which is the next big change for CM I will be able to dropScout and have 20 more points to add to pistoleer.

Just my opinion but as much as some complain about CM lately it is still a very good profession and I enjoy it a lot.
