Thread: Medics: What resources do you all need? What really helps most? A customer inquiry
OK guys, what I need to know is what kind of materials benefit you all? Is it just meat? What about fruit, wheat, etc? Bones/hides do anything for you? How bout radioactive stuff or water?
I know you guys are having a tough time, and frankly, I have no idea what I can be doing (other then just dropping cash) to make it better when I amdone getting healed.
Any info you canprovidewould be much appreciated.
1) Money
2) Organics (meat, grains, bone, hide, fungus, etc.)
3) Chemicals (anything but Lube Oil)
4) Metals
5) Water
Specifically, we are looking for resources with as high an Overall Quality as possible.

Yep. High OQ, High Potential Energy, High Maleability and High Floavo (to a much lesser extent thatn the other 3) are all the big ones for general resources, organic or inorganic of whatever kind.
For specifics, though, Herbivore Meat, Dantooine Berries, Talusian Water, Dolovite Iron, Class 4 Liquid Petro Fuel, Class 2 Liquid Petro Fuel, Tatooine Fiberplast andYavin Fiberplast I can think of off the top of my head. I don't care about the quality of those things (although if there is more than one of the type available, I'd definitely go for the better quality version, musch like there were 2 types of water on Talus recently, on Eclipse, until we mined out the best version.)
It's very dificult to list exact resources because they will all have variable qualities between different planets and different servers. Itimeniium might be an awesome Inert Petrochem on Corellia on the Eclipse server, but it might be a horrible Lubricating Oil on Tatooine on Starsider. Even for something that was pretty good on Talus, Eclipserecently, like Insect Meat, could be horrible if you got the same stuff on Naboo, Eclipse.
Well, at least what has been listed will bea help. I only asked because I recently ran into a medic who complained quite vocally that the 100 meat (quality was like 600 or so) and some 300 wheat (quality was like 920 or so) I gave him for healing me (had 45-50 health wounds) was an insult, and I should have just given cash or he wouldn't have wasted his time.
Since I only play 1-2 hrs a day, I am not rolling in the cash, and was surprised to see such a response when I was trying to be polite and exchange some goods for his service. Least I have a better idea of what might be of use in a barter situation.
blah dont worry about the grouchy medics...they will surrender out of the class and into artisan when they realize medics and doctors are DIRT POOR!!! lol
I never charge for healing...just seems wrong too
We TRY to get 900+ OQ for all our components
Makes for good medicine. Mix that with a public/person crafting station, and shazaam -- ya got yourself potentmedicine something fierce.
But yeah 100 meats alone is EXCELLENT. That's some high, high quality stuff.
yeah, definitely don't worry about whiny medics who don't appreciate larger stacks of organics. i've had people offer organics to me in exchange for healing, only to have them give me one (yes, 1) of each. the amount you gave 100 meat, 300 wheat is more than enough payment for 40 wounds. especially since that is only about one or two heals for a good medic. you can always ask what the medic needs, but for the most part just receiving a useful tip is bonus for us.

Ugh, that wasn't a nice Medic. But please don't be insulted if we return your offer becuase it isn't enough quality; low quality causes critical failures or degrades the medicine overall if we use it in conjunction with those hard-earned high quality resources. Me, if I get offered something I can't directly use, I try to see if I'll be able to barter it for something I can (hides & bone are a good example). I trade hide for metals or chems.
I only get insulted by 50cr tips on 1000+ wounds if I see the person posting on the SWG boards that he feels crafters are underpaid
Give what you can, or at least acknowledge that you would do more if you could.
