Thread: What skills?
I've got a few skillpoints to play with and am looking for the best heal given my limitations. Would it be better to get First Aid IV and use the Stim Bs I can from Novice Medic or should I get Pharmacology IV so I can use Stim Cs and a First Aid skill or two?
Thanks.

It appears Asteroids and I were pondering the same thing at the same time. Thanks for answering our questions when you do.

If you have enough skill points to go upto FA IV, then I would do the following.
PharmIII
FA II
If you have enough to do the same combo and left overs, get Pharm IV
The reason: Pharm III gives you Stim C's and FA II gives you FirstAid(Stop bleeding) and lets your stims do more healing.
As an alternate, some might say go with Pharm IV, because that would let you use Stim D's. Personally I think the trade off is better at PhaIII and FA II.
I am currently planning for Master Pikeman, and Master Ranger.
That will leave me with just enough points to get novice med, and ONE skill.
Which should I pick? I am using Stim B's right now. Can I do it without losing this ability?
ah cool, I've been thinking aboutswapping my medic skills around too.
a.t.m I am 2-0-1-3.
but from reading various threads in the forums, I'd be better off buying my stims
and changing my skills to 2-0-4-0 or maybe 3-0-3-0? which is the best option?
I've got no more skill points to spare on my medic skills, so would like some feedback.
thanks.
Ok, how about my problem. I was a BE so I already have Organic 4. I have decided to give up BE and become a Doctor. I plan to go all the way to master Doctor, so I know I will need all of medic, but, as I am progressing, is it better to go up the first aid branch first, or the Pharmicology, or keep them even?
In other words, will I get more experience from the healing bonus in First aid, or from using higher level meds?
there are simple rules to what to take on medic as a secondry profession just for combat healing etc:
#1 don't take pharmacology unless you can get it to 3.
#2 don't bother with organic chem , you can buy better stims
#3 there is nothing in medic that let you heal wounds better or faster either get a doctor to do it or use very powerful wound B ( i think you need master med for C)
#4 if you can't get good stim C , or all the stims you can get stink then you shouldn'tbother with pharmacology.
here is what you need to know:
injury treatment is a % bonus for your heals (from first aid)
first aid 2 gives you the ability to treat bleeding.
stims:
stim A/B = novice medic can use by default
stim C = pharmacology 3 if experimented down to 30 med use ( cost like 1 point) or use extreamly high quality componants. if it's not experimented you need pharmacology 4 for stim c
stim D = pharmacology 4 if experimented down to 40 med use similarly to stim C
stim E = if i'm not mistatken master medic think it's around 47 med use base
wound packs:
wound a - i think the max power of that is around 20 and i dubt you'll find them that powerful.low uses if you want to heal your wounds it would take you a very long time using those.
wound b = novice medic . avg power of low quality ones 40-50 . if you use a wound b with all advanced componant you can get them to around 150 power 35 uses unexperimented . i've made 170/40 and 160/43 and similar one with all advanced.
Wound C is minimum of master medic to use
anyways i'm working on a benefit scale to rate healing rate and power of different stims at different skills. but it would take some more experimentation until can figure it all out
