Thread: Novice Medic Required for Medpack usage?!

I think it's silly we have to blow 15 skill points simply to be able to use stimpacks and medpacks...

I'm not sure if this is the place, but I'm trying to get some momentum up to propose a change.

It should be like this: All characters can use all stimpacks... A's B's and C's. Players skilled in "Novice Medic" and above will get certain bonuses... something akin to a non-rifleman using a rifle... still serviceable, but you can't use it to it's full potential (say maybe 60%) if you want to get into healing wounds and such yourself, then Novice Medic would also be required... as also would be required to craft any medical items. I would just like to be able to use stimpacks on myself and pets without having to eat that 15 skill points. The only thing I even use that medical knowledge for is to use stimpacks... and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one out there.

Mull it over, see what you think, and hopefully we can get this idea refined and off the ground.

Thanks for the time taken to read this..

Ahh, cake and eat it too. I like that, while your at it make it so that I dont have to be a Doc to buff myself. Or a CM to throw poisons.

Ah heck make it so I just allocate my skill points so I dont have to grind. Then it would be really cool if ya'll just go ahead and open up my FS slot for me. After all I am paying my monthly fee.

they did make a change.

Beginning TODAY you can purchase a droid from a DE equiped with a "Stim Dispensor." All you will need to do is have a Medic with Pharmacology IV load it with stim A's for you when it runs out (which might be a pain in the butt). The droid will heal you on command.

I like that droid dispenser.. that's an awesome idea. So you won't have to have medical knowledge to get healed by this droid?

Also, will this only work with Stim-A's? Not Stim-b's?

On my server, no one really ever bothered with Stim-A's as Stim-b's are well over 400+ healing power.

Maybe this will change that!

This will create a market for master doc crafted stim A crates, to be loaded into the droids. I can see docs spamming how powerful their stim As are in the Coronet starport even now.

I know that my new alt who is working his way up the medic ladder hasn't bothered to craft a stim; my PA has a master doc who provides crates of Bs and they are more than adequate for the novice medic to use on dancers or tumblers for XP. The crafting grind was BECs exclusively until OC IV, and now it's ABECs all the way, baby.

No med skill required to USE the droid, but in order to load new stims into the droid, you must have pharmacology IV (0040). You can simply trade the droid to someone lese to load it.

Only Stim A's. Not even Stim A+ sill work.
