rapid pace, The easiest (non-possible exploitable)way to get medic xp is to heal entertainers in the cantina. As for crafting, grind stim a's to use on the entertainers, and then grind Advanced BEC's when you get the schematic.

progress up the skill tree. As far as fun is concerned, I levelled in the medical centers. I met a lot of cool people and you get more xp for healing wounds as opposed to healing damage on people. Plus I really hate mindless grinding.

I confess to being completely

clueless about crafting and most things non combat so

any guidance would be most welcome. Check the artisan forums for crafting macros to make the crafting grind go much easier on you. Also, while A BEC's are expensive to make, they are worth almost double the xp of regular ones so I think they are worthwhile to grind on.

along with healing the entertainers, find some1 who will tumble for you cuz thats a really fast way to gain medic xp easily
