I am a Master Medic. If I take on Novice Doctor, can I later sacrifice novice doctor and switch to Combat Medic? Or can I do both?Similarly, If I take on Architect can I later give it up and take on Armorsmith?Or can I do both? I am aware of the 250 skill limit. More specifically I want to go for combat medic later but I dont have the ranged support xp yet. I do qualify for novice doctor now, and could use the skills for a while. Also I am hoping architect can help mesave some harvesters and buildings and factories. Then I can give it up to build my own armor with what I saved.

You can drop and learn skills as you please, so long as you don't exceed 250 skill points. Obviously, when you drop a skill box, your character 'forgets' the skills that are in that box. Also, you can't reclaim the XP that was used to purchase skills. Once you train in a skill, the XP is gone.

All xp and apprenticeship points are lost when you train the skill, ie. they are the cost you pay to get the box. As Obata said, you cannot reclaim those lost points upon surrendering the skill. If you're worried because you found it hard to obtain apprenticeship points, then fear not, in the upcoming patch the master box will no longer haveany xp cost requirements (it will still take skill points though).

Yes you can be a master doctor / master combat medic at the same time, with 18 skill points to spare!

Does antbody know for sure that I can surrender Novice Doctor and keep my Master Medic XP? (Sorry to be so persistant but the game has no "take backs") and that is assuming I am not ready to do Combat Medic at that time.

Thanks for the help so far.

Medic and Doc XP are the same. However whatever XP you spend to gain a skill is lost once you give that skill up. You can' change professions any time you want. Infact Doctor, Medic, and CM all use the same XP. But again XP spent on a skill is gone when you drop a skill.

Curious as to why you are a "she" but your Icon is a "he".

Once you spend XP (any XP) to gain a skill, that XP is gone. If you surrender the skill, then later wish to get it back, you will need to have the XP to relearn it. When you surrender a skill, you only recalim the skill points, not the XP. Novice doc and novice CM require the same type of XP (medicine XP). The XP you spend to get novice doc will not be available to you later when you are ready for novice CM. However, medicine XP is not hard to get, and the 12500 needed for novice CM goes by fast.

If you're talking about the Master Medic skillbox itself, yes you can drop Novice Doctor and still have Master Medic. Then, whenever you're ready and have Ranged IV in marksman, you can easily just grab Novice Combat Medic.

Take it from me you won't have a lot of skillpoints left over if you want to Master Doctor and Combat Medic

Personally I would feel gimped if I dropped even on master box from either, but some people (pvpers in particular) seem to like training only certain skills in combat medic. Personally I would rather be a master of two professions than a jack of all trades
