Thread: Medic Missions Now

Since money is an issue for every profession and a big problem for a starting medic, I have an idea for some Medic Missions. Every other starting profession has missions that can be completed using the skills given by the profession. Artisan, Entertainer, and Explorer (Scout) missions were even added around August, but still no Medic missions. This forces Medics to take on additional professions to earn money. Not everyone is into combat, or crafting. Payouts for these missions should scale based on the Med Use of the Medic.


  1. (Medicine Crafting) - Travel somewhere to get supplies from an NPC for a rare medicine. You craft the medicine and give it to the NPC. This is very similar to Artisan crafting missions.
  2. (Player Healing) - Like the Starting Profession quests. Get a mission to sit in a Med Center and heal at least 10-20 different people. With a timer that you need to be in the Med Center for at least 30 minutes to complete the mission.
  3. (NPC Healing) - Get a mission to head to a waypoint to heal an NPC of a certain problem (bleeding, damage, wounds, etc...), if the medic can. This will require a bit more work to allow players to heal NPC's. This can expand to Doctors with cure poison or disease.

I made this proposal over 8 months ago, and our Medic Corr.(MNS) has done everything in his power to help this come true. However his words have fallen on deaf ears, and I say it's time to turn up the volume. The Medic community as well as Doctors and Combat Medics need to get involved as well.


When the game was launched there were only missions for Marksmen and Brawlers (Combat Missions) with delivery missions for everyone else. In August 2003 Entertainter, Artisan and Scout missions were all added to the game. Medic missions have made the top 5 of Medic issues several times and nothing was ever done. I feel the main problem is that the Medic community isn't as vocal as it should be.


This is not a question of coding since the starting Medic (Green Helper Droid) already has missions for healing others. These just need to be placed on a Mission terminal. This is a question of SoE being lazy about getting this done. I understand that for the most part there are very few bugs in the Medic profession, but that is not an excuse to ignorean issue for a year and a half.


Things that can be done to help out



  1. Submit Feedback from the SWG main page. Make sure you ask for Medic Missions to be placed in the game as the Green Helper Droid has missions for it.

  2. Post on the Quest and Missions forums that Medic Missions are needed.

  3. Submit /bug reports stating that you can't find the Medic Mission terminals.

  4. Submit CSR tickets asking for a status on Medic Missions.

My husband and I were just talking about this yesterday. As a newbie Medic on Eclipse, I am finding it extremely rough as I don't want a combat skill at the moment and the artisan missions take me to ridiculous ends of the planet and pay so little. I can barely keep cash to buy cheesy resources to craft with, let alone to be able to purchase anything decent. I shouldn't be forced to take on a combat profession in order to make cash and survive. Thank you to the kind strangers who have helped me along ..I'd have given up if not for you. Medics need this!

Artisan crafting missions can be a boring grind, but you can clear at least 1.5k profit per shuttle roundtrip in the right places: Tyrena-Vreni Island, Corellia; Moenia-Deeja Peak, Naboo; Mos Eisley-Anchorhead, Tatooine. With the shuttle wait time dropping again, you should be able to complete quite a few missions per hour. Back when the wait time was 10 minutes, I used to sample and practice-craft during the down time.

Travin, I'm totally with you on the need for medic missions.I, too have been waiting since launch for them to be implemented. I'm also all for voicing this desire on the boards. I think anyone who using bug reports or CSR tickets to get noticed should know that the devs and CSRs are not likely to look too kindly on that tactic. It's possible that action could be taken against your account if you abuse the bug reporting system. I'd hate to see the medic community get labeled as an annoyance.

I hope we can find the medic terminals soon.

I will post a feedback too.


Even i'm master doctor for over 9 months it will be funny to do medic missions.

Actually the feedback is probably the best, but I'm getting frustrated that an entire profession is largely ignored. If the regular mission terminals stopped working they would stop everything they were working on to get it fixed. They just believe that we've gone this long without, so we must not need it.

I totally agree with this. I didnt enjoy haveing to pick up extra profs to collect cash for medic




Pre-Cu veteran returning to the game he loves. SWG I thought NGE was a disaster but I think you might have something going for you. Give it time to develop.

I think things like the village quests prove that medic missions could work and be interesting, but I would like to see the reward for completing missions to be a little more substantial. Why should the combat people get all the credits?

I'm starting to charge 10K for healing wounds and not buffing at all until Medic Missions are in place. I know that the actions of one Neutral Master Doctor doesn't mean a thing to the Devs, but if it gets one more person to submit feedback then it worked. I would encourage everyone to charge for healing anyway, so medics aren't taken advantage of.
