Hey guys, here's a simple story I'd like to share. And then a slightly off-topic discussion about medical centers.
So I'm in the Mos Eisley medical center healing patients. Outside I can hear some guy yelling, asking if anybody could give him a buff. Naturally I don't answer, since I'm busy and I'm wearing my master medic title to keep me from being bothered by random people looking for buffs. A couple minutes later he actually comes in, and asks, "hey palacek you doc?"
"Yes, but I don't do buffs, if that's what you're looking for," I say. He gives me the unknown salute and runs out.
"Nice guy," I say.
I'm sure we all know the ins and outs of the buff controversy. Short story = I'm generally anti doctor buff, which is the primary reason why I don't give out buffs. The secondary reason why I don't give out buffs is because at this time, I simply CAN'T give out buffs. Once upon a time I had the skills, but had dropped them a while back.
Okay, I can understand if I came off as being kind of hostile. That's the kind of frank personality I've given this character. Seriously though, if that's the way he's gonna treat me for refusing to give a buff, regardless of whether or not he know that I can't even do it, then so be it.
So what's the point of this story? I'm not sure...just take what you will from it. As for me, a least it helped alleviate the boredom of sittin' around in the medical center.

atleast you are healing. I dropped medic a week or 2 ago and after trying in vein to get ANYONE to heal my wounds, I gave up and picked up medic again. Dropped 4 days worth of brawler and smuggler grinding for it. When I was a medic if I saw anyone with wounds out would come my droid and heal all stats and sub stats and at the time I noticedno one really healed anymore. I was scared to drop medic for that reason. You go to a med center and everyone just sits there and ignores you no matter how nice you ask. I think everyone should get novice medic and not have to worry about skill points if its going to be like this.

People like this I usually place on my "No Heal" list. In more extreme cases I will place their whole guild on the list. There is no need for this behavior.
I was in a Med Center healing wounds and training Medics, just as something to do. I always wear my Master Doctor title so people know I can teach them and cure disease/poison/fire and such. A guy comes in and the Medics heal him up (they need the xps, not me). Then asks me for a buff. I tell him, "Sorry, I'm not buffing today", and proceeds to cuss me out about how it's my "job" to buff him. So I /report him for the foul language and put his guild on my list.

omg people can be presumptive littleturds!!! That sucks, I agree with everyone that says he should be put on your no heal list. When combat profs demand buffs from me simply because im a doc I start demanding to know where my loot/resources are. Only then does it dawn on them that just because I can do something doesnt mean that im obligated to, especially for rude strangers that have no room to demand sh!t from me.

That's a good one. The other one is "sure, that will be 10,000,000 credits, all in advance. Thanks!".

Hehe...also an excellent response.I think I'll use it on rebel pvp'ers who ask me for a buff.

When I was a doc I loved to just sit around the med center with my doctor outfit on and heal people. Many people appreciated it as everyone else would just be healing the tumblers. Some people would even tip me up to 20k. Of course with the Master Doc tag up I would get tells for buffs and after a while I got bored and instead of replying no sorry and getting cussed out, I would just say random things like pants are like chickens they are tasty and instead of continuing they would just assume I was crazy and stop talking to me.
I suppose I have a strange sense of humor but it would just crack me up when they would say, "uhh...right.... Later"

Ony, that is a good strategy. I use to have a macro that was:
/r So I only did 6 months, and I just gotta stay 200 yards away from her;
/pause 1;
/r oops, mt;
I noticed that this helped quite a bit. Sometimes is really fun to mess with people. There was one guy that came into the Med Center (I wasn't even a Master Medic yet). However, all he talked about how much he had done, how much Tyrena sucked and how uber he was. Me and my friend stopped healing him and we both left leaving him in an empty Med Center. He was quite upset about that. We were a very tight knit group of Medics at the time.

/r I could've totally avoided the whole 'manslaughter' charge if I had only stayed on my lithium!
Hows that one?

Oh heck, as a female you can have alot of fun with it. The trick is to make them feel uncomforatable or scared. I do like the lithium angle too.
- /r So I told the cop that I was only 15 and got his @$$ thrown in jail
- /r My brother showed me how to make a shiv before I turned myself in
- /r And because my lithium ran out, I can just plead insanity
- /rSo I finished myanger management class before he even got out of the hospital
- /r But according to my lawyer 1 shot is self-defense, 10+ shots is an insanity plea
