Since some questions are starting to be repeated here I though we could use a FAQ. Please post with corrections and additions.

The Medic FAQ v0.1

Q: I'm healing all this damage, but I'm not getting any XP! What gives?

A: You are probably using the /tenddamage command. This command is intended for emergencies and doesn't grant any experience. The /tendwound command does grant XP, otherwise you will have to craft or buy stimpacks and medpacks and use them on other players to get XP.

Q: I opened my crafting tool to make some stimpacks but it says I need "organics" and "inorganics", where do I get these?

A: There are several ways for medics to obtain resources for crafting. The first is the /medicalforage command. This will use up some of your action pool and extract a random organic resource. Unfortunately, this isn't very useful as you'll need 8 organics of the same type to craft a Stimpack A. Your next option is to try to buy resources off the bazaar or from another player. Failing this you can train in the Artisan profession and survey for your own resources. If you didn't start as an Artisan you will need to buy at least a Mineral Survey Tool off the bazaar or from another player. Ounce you survey for some metal you can craft Flora and Chemical survey tools and use them to gather the resources you need. Finally, you can also obtain organics by training in the Scout profession and extracting resources from dead creatures.

Q: I trained in Organic Chemistry II, which says it grants Stimpack B, but when I open my General Crafting Tool I don't see Stimpack B.

A: You need to obtain a Food and Chemical Crafting Tool by crafting one or buying one from the bazaar or from another player. Use this tool to craft more complex items like Stimpack B's.

Q: Ok, now I have Organic Chemistry IV but I don't see Stimpack C in my Food and Chemical Crafting Tool.

A: For Stimpack C you'll have to use a public Food and Chemical Crafting Station. You can find these at various locations in cities, often in front of the starport. Stand near one of these and use your Food and Chemical Crafting Tool to make Stimpack C's and other advanced medicines.

Q: How do I experiment on my medicines?

A: Experimentation is another thing that only happens at public Food and Chemical Crafting Stations. Stand near one of these and use your Food and Chemical Crafting Tool, when you assemble your item you will see a menu with three options: Create Prototype, Create Manufacturing Schematic, and Experimentation. Click experimentation and distribute your experimentation points among the stats you want to increase. Experimentation can greatly enhance the effectiveness of your medicines.

Q: I have a schematic for something called a Biological Effect Controller but it doesn't seem to do anything.

A: This is a sub-component used to craft B and higher-level medicines. It will become more useful when you train Organic Chemistry II and start crafting Stimpack B's. The only use you might have for it is to craft some and sell them to more advanced medics. Other sub-components include the Chemical Release Duration Mechanism, Liquid Suspension, and Solid Delivery Shell.

Q: I need more detailed help.

A: Try Tale's Medic Guide in this forum.

Q: This profession is really hard.

A: Some changes should be coming soon. Read Holocron's message about Making Medic's Lives Easier in this forum.

Thank you, PlasticBoy. You answered my question about the Biological Controller and Liquid Suspension, not to mention the info on Stimpack B needing a Food and Chemical Craft tool. Guess I better get one soon.
