Potts --- are you using stimpaks? Health/Action Wound paks? Nothing? You have the ability to use stimpaks immediately, but you have to make them. Once you've made and used approx 17 of these (which heal only damage, btw), you'll qualify for Org Chem 1. It is at that point that you can craft Med paks (which heal wounds).
So you see, in order to heal damage=stimpaks to heal wounds=medpaks. Simple, huh? Except, in order for you to craft all this stuff, you'll need to find the resources to do it. I suggest taking up Artisan, and getting Mineral and Flora survey tools so you can get enough resources to start making all your meds.

You get the ability to craft Medpack As at Organic Chemistry 1. If you only have the Novice Medic skill, then you're limited to using the /tendwound command. The syntax is /tendwound <statname>. I.E. /tendwound health, /tendwound action, /tendwound strength, etc.
You can craft better Stims and Meds as you go up the Organic Chemistry tree. However, you won't be able to usesome of the higher level packswithout training the Pharmacology skill up or experimenting the skill requirements down.
