hey fellas, just had a few questions to pose...

I'm a novice medic on Eclipse server (Jaael), and have had a blast this weekend healing peeps and meeting alot of players. We really are a profession that is sought out by the "well-informed" players. I like feeling needed

anyway, my questions are these: what is the difference between /tendwound and /healwound? or /Healdamage and /tenddamage? Do i need something(medpacks or stims) in order to use one of these above commands?

thanks in advance... if ya need any help on eclipse server...look up Jaael (currently on Tatooine)!

The /heal commands require stimpacks/medpacks to use. The /tends don't.

The difference is that the using the /tend commands will actually inflict wounds back on yourself (the medic).Theyare not meant for regular use.

Here is the breakdown:

/tend- commands: these do not require medicines, but will cause you to accumulate wounds to your focus and willpower at the rate of 5 each per use.
/heal- commands: you need medicine for these, but the upside is that you don't get wounds.

-damage commands: heal the pool when it's simply depleted (white space in the bar). Not so useful in the medical center but good for keeping a guy up in combat. /healdamage requires a stimpack of some kind.
-wound commands: heal the black part of the bar. You need to be in a camp or medical center to do it. /healwound requires a woundpack of some kind.

I hope that helps.

Ok, thats what i thought...thanks for the replies gentlemen!

so if you put a stim in your hotkey bar and use that on another player, you are basically doing a /healdamage?

That is correcrt, Veruca. However, I highly suggest you just use /heald or a shortcut that does /heald, because you'll be updating your hotbar a lot if you just drop the stimpack itself on the bar. 20 Charges may seem like a lot, but you can go through it rather quickly.

A shortcut that does /heald, will automatically use stimpacks from your inventory.

Ah, great idea...thanks...

on the issue of macros...

i tried to create a macro using Ctrl + a, for the purpose of /tend specific wounds...

like /tendwound action

but everytime i tried to save it, it said that there can be no spaces in a macro? Is this a bug or something? Or by design?

has anyone been able to create hotkeys for tending the 6 different wounds we can heal? so i dont have to type this every 15 seconds?!

oh, and how does /heald know which stim to use...

If i have a stim a and a stim b, which does it use first?

I believe it just takes whatever the first stim in you inventory is. Not a very good method. I always used the double tool bar with one bar just being different stims so I could use which ever one I wanted at any time.

If you are planning on being a CM or CM hybrid, I strongly suggest you get yourself used to hotkeyed packs now. When you have ranged/AE/normal stims you are going to need to key them up that way and pretty darn quick, too. Good news there, the stacks will be in the 30s+ then so they'll last a bit longer. I generally doubled up the top/bottom spots on the hotbar with the same types of packs so I only had to do it every 60 heals or so.

/healdamage ranged, /healdamage area, /healdamage normal commands please!

the first line in the macro editor is the name of the macro.. this CANNOT have spaces in it. the bottom part is where you type the macro. Make the first line say "tendaction", pick an icon, and type "/tendwound action" into the bottom field.
