No I am not talking wounds but mind damage. I find it odd that you can use stimpaks to heal health and action damage but there is no quick type heal for mind. How can a medic be of any use then in PvP when alot of folks go rifle and headshot?

Entertainers

Hopefully you'll have an entertainer with you when you PvP

Entertainers are all well and good but don't do much in a combat setting. Like I said I find it odd that you can quick heal health or action but nothing can quick heal mind. This will make it the damage type of choice since there is no way to heal it during a fight other then natural regen.

I think you're right that medics' inability to heal mind damage in combat makes mind damage the preferred type in PvP. However, you can't really make it so medics can heal mind damage because the cost of using a stimpack is mind pool. If stimpacks healed mind damage there would be no cost to using a stimpack and no point to medics putting stat points in their mind stats. I agree mind damage is a problem in PvP but I don't know how to fix it.

Try not to think of it always in terms of game mechanics, but rather, think of it this way:

When you're fatigued after long battles if you're really in the military, do you unwind by going to see a doctor? No, you unwind (i.e., get rid of your battle fatigue) by going to a strip club, seeing a show, being with your girl, etc.

Now, admittedly, Medical Doctors can heal PHYSICAL mind damage (brain damage, etc) -- but willpower, focus, etc. is more of a psychological issue. That's why we have entertainers.

Now, true, if there were a psychology subtree in Medic that would solve the issue ... but would anyone really care about that? I wouldnt' give up my existing skill trees for it. Just let the entertainers keep that ability -- it's what they have going for them.

Plus, it balances things out a little more. If you're a fighter that pumped all his stats into health and action, you're leaving yourself vulnerable for mind attacks. It's quite a clever system.

Well I defnitly don't want medics to be able to heal mind wounds or battle fatuige. But like I stated earlier out fighting the entertainer isn't going to do you any good. I was thinking more of stimulates or such for the field =) Something that would heal the mind pool but still not touch wounds and battle fatiuge (which is what entertainers really are for).

Umm please correct me if I'm wrong, but there is something that affects mind regen and not wounds....it's called food. Look to your local chef to provide some real goodies for all your buffing/regen needs.

Can you make items with cooking that instantly give you back mind points? Basically I am looking for an equivialent to a stimpak for the mind pool.

when healing people, I have eaten Nectar Blend, and it seemed to restore my mind points much quicker than they were on their own.

Also, maybe it's just me, but it seems like it would be harder to bouce back from a blaster shot to the face. Head shots should really be one shot kills, but harder to do.
