Why do medics need to enter combat to gain xp? I checked the multi-bubble chart published about the CU and do not see the word medic anywhwere. I support not changing the medical xp for those people trying to level in the medic levels even if there is a change to how you get xp as a doctor or combat medic.

SWG might accomplish this by granting medical xp realitive to the amount of damage healed or tending to bleeds (I feel sorry for you loosing wound healing) and granting advanced medical healing xp in the proposed manner under the CU.The advanced medical xp would be used in thedoctor and combat medic, and medicprofessions, while the medical xp could only be used in the medic tree. If there is a problem with the technical aspects of the game not being able to support this, then allow medics to take any of their advanced medical xp to a medic trainer and transform it into medical xp like the jedi hopefuls transform various forms of xp into jedi-like xp.

I contend that medic is nota "beginning" or "gateway"combat profession. Brawler and marksmen are gateways to other elite and hybred combat professions, but not medic. Compairing the composition of medic to that of brawler and marksmen, there are twodifferences:1) brawler and marksmen grant weaponcertifications, combatskills, and various bonuses and defenses (I have yet to see any proposed defenses to the medical tree), and 2) brawler and markmen, have specialized xp for each tree, while medic uses the same xp for 3 trees and a different xp for the last.If there is a middle ground between thecombat and noncombatgateway professions,I contend medic is right there.

I understand some of the medic abilities and modifiers could be used as a doctor or combat medic and that might justify requiring combat for xp. However, I content the "interests of justice" support my argument.SWG should want people to heal other people. If I were a medic, andI sawsomeout of combatrequiring healing, and I knew I would not get any xp for that effort, I would not heal them. Too bad. Where is the benifit to me? (Similarly, where would the benifit to healing wounds as a master doctor and not getting xp. I guess that is the wrong forum though.)

Let'sposition this game toencourage people to help each other.

Medic is considered CM or Doc on the professions chart (which is why it wasn't listed directly). And the healing professions have always been considered Combat Support. But because we healers are now actually treated as Combat Support, the XP had to be changed to prevent cheating / AFK play / Grinding.

To keep Healers on the same page as the fighters we have to get the same type of XP as them, otherwise we would out level them far to quickly as was proven before the XP Changes. Trust me....like it or not, the XP changes were needed to balance out the system.

I certainly understand leveling to novice doctor quickly. Although I did not make it in a day, leveled through medic very quickly.

Why they changed the medical xp I understand. I do not think it was a correct decision.
