Thread: Noob question.... making stimpacks

I know everyone's gonna hate me, but help a noob out, ok?

I've tried to make some stimpacks, and I see why everyone is so annoyed at using them up so quickly on not-so-grateful customers. It is time consuming.

Anyway, onto my question. The first time I tried to make a stimpack, the creator thingy failed. The second time, it said that the creation was only partially successful.

Do I just get better at the crafting as I go along, or does it have to do with the combinations of materials? The first round I used copper and domesticated wheat. Second time I used iron and wheat.

If it's the combo that is the problem, what are the combos that actually work? I plan on doing some major surveying, and I don't feel like picking up 500,000 of a material before finding out that it is garbage.

P.S. If you're on Corellia on Sunrunner server, say hi.

Yes, there is overall quality of items... I don't know at the momment what items have the highest quality, and they do change...

However you are right. It goes like this on how you succeed.

Your matierials play a big role.

Your skill plays a huge role.

Your crafting tool plays a so-so role.

Whether or not you are standing by a PUBLIC crafting station plays a LARGE role later on.

Whether or not you are standing by a PRIVATE crafting (food and chemical) station plays a role.

and I'm sure there are other things, but that's all I can think of.

Also... use the Food and Chemical Crafting Tool, near a Food and Chemical Crafting Station. You'll get better results on all items... then once you get good, start experimenting, you'll make your item better stat wise, but may be a less successful attempt... Then once you become a master at crafting meds, then you'll be all around amazing. hehe.

But that's a quick lube of the job.

K, so you suggest using the same materials, but use the crafting station instead?

Also, with the experimentation thing.... does that come along with higher skill levels, or am i missing the option on the crafting screen?

To get the experimentation options, you have to be using a specialized crafting tool while standing near a crafting station. So for experimenting on medical items, use a chemical and food crafting tool, and stand next to a chemical and food station. More options will appear. Some schematics are only available when you're doing this, so it's generally a good idea.

How do you make Stimpacks B?

You get the schematic for stimpack B when you get the skill organic chemistry II. Also, you need to be using a food and chemical crafting tool, I don't think the GCT can craft them.

GCTs can't craft stimpack Bs. You need some pre-crafted items to make stim-Bs also. I have not seen a huge improvement from Stim-As to Bs that make crafting Bs worthwhile, but then I'm only at First Aid II.

Here is the best thing you can do when u get new packs to craft...

go to your datapad, open it upto schematics and examine the schematics you have...

they will tell you what you need not only in terms of resources, but in terms of tools and terminals as well...

IT also tells you what resource attributes are important. If it says Quality 50% and Durability 50%, then try to get resources that are high in those attributes. That will make your final product much better.
