Thread: Diagnose skill and healing speed.

The description for the Diagnose skill indicates that it allows a medic to heal faster. I have Diagnose II, but I still have to wait 5 seconds between damage heals and 25 seconds between wound heals. Is this skill even working?

It does not affect wound healing at all.

How much does each level speed up healing? The numbers are arbitrary to me. Right now, I have no Diag and it's 5 seconds. How long will it be if I have 1,2,3,4?

Thanks

first you need wound speed which is in the doctor tree to speed up wound healing...

second, i have diagnostic 4 and find that it helps stim speed on other people but not when u stim urself...I get about 3 secs a stim on others right now or around there

Its not all that huge of a difference

I ran a quick experiment to figure this out:
I made a brand new Medic on Test Server and used a stopwatch to measure the time between heals: 10 seconds.
I loaded up my Master Medic on Starsider, went to the Cantina and healed some entertainers. Time between heals: 5 seconds.
Then I burstran and healed myself. Time between heals: 10 seconds.
So, as others have observed, Diagnostics speeds up the rate at which you can heal others but not self healing. I don't know if that's a bug but I reported it as such.

Note: this is all damage healing, Diagnostics doesn't affect wound healing speed.

I have noticed a huge time difference in damage heals since I hit Diag 4, and I think you get a small time interval when you hit master medic.

As for wound healing, a Doctor will specialise in wound healing so they will get increased wound healing speeds. I am not sure what the time interval is but it will something around 20 seconds I'm guessing, which isn't bad.

also keep in mind that /firstaid is on the same timer, but does not get faster either(it still takes 10s before you can heal or /firstaid again)

Im sure the devs mentioned that the diagnose tree would also have a diagnose command so that medics can see the ALL wounds a player has, not just HAM wounds.

Im not sure if this ability is at the top or bottom of the tree, or you get the ability to see more stats as you go up the tree, but its still a bit pointless without the wound packs to heal them.
