Thread: Kind of OT, but has anyone else actually studied Organic Chem?

So, two semesters of organic chemistry sophomore year, big piles of flash cards with reactions on them, finally getting out of that final exam. . . Finished with orgo! Huzzah!

One year later, log on to SWG and start a medic to find. . . . I have to learn orgo all over again!

Don't get me wrong, I like my medic, and I don't even mind the orgo skill tree. (It's just crafting, and the crafting system is pretty cool, I think.) It was just a fairly unpleasant jolt to think of going through that class twice.

Maybe I could transfer credit to my character?

Just a little humor added to the process of skilling up.

LOL...I know what ya mean...my mood fell about 12 shades when I found the org chem skill branch. Ihope I don't have to drag out my little model kit we used to make the molecules. hehe

I had 2 semesters of org as well...years ago. I'm all for transferring experience. LOL

Seriously, though, I'm just glad the XPs for advancement in Org don't require HUGE amounts...I'm just getting started on Org IV.

Boy.. how do you guys find all the supplies to craft all that stuff? That's been a little struggle for me. I lose my way points all the time to the spots that I like. I've been planet hopping and exploring and so far have found the areas outside of Bestine on Tattoine semi decent.

Any help in this regard?

Very easy to get resources.

Train Arisan, survey, survey, survery. In a day or two you'll be Tier 4 in surveying. Plant4 harvesters (Wind, Flora, Chem, and Ore. In a couple days you'll be swimming in your resources. My harvesters are all within 5 mins of my house on Naboo, so doing "harvester maintenance" take me less than 15 minutes each day I log in.

Dump Survey 4 when you need the Skill Points.

I can do one better than all of you. I am chemsitry major in real life. I have had four semesters of organic chemistry. I was just glad the medical profession doesn't have physical chemistry in the skill tree. Ha ha.

I bet some of you guys even said, "Organic Chem when will I ever need that?" Well, you need it in SWG. Go figure.

I have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, but they won't make me an automatic Master Bioengineer. Maybe if I create a womprat in the lab and send it to them...

Oh and orgo in SWG is much more fun than orgo was in college.

My degree is in Geology with minors in Physics and Computer Science. I kind of specialized in remote sensing geophysics, so you'd think I'd get some skill mods to mineral, water and chemical surveying. Alas, no such luck.

I've got a degree in engineering, and my character could use some harvesters. Regrettably, doesn't work that way. And thankfully so - RL army soldiers and field medics would be SUPER bored playing the MMORPG of my life.
