I made Master Medic a while back and I want to move on to Combat Medic. Problem is I'm struggling to get Ranged Weapon Support Specialist. I've continued to heal players but currently have no skills to put that experience in until I finish the ranged weapon requirement for CM. My question is will I stop gaining healing experience at some point? I qualified for Doctor already which means I've surpassed 12000 medical experience. I'm tempted to train in Novice Doctor for the time being until Iqualify for CM.

Yes, you will cap your medical exp. The cap is slightly higher than it would normally be because of the problem we had a couple weeks ago where doctor was gated (couldnt get enough base exp to train anything because it took more than 2x the last exp level to train).

I don't remember what the cap is but it's there. So you can either train novice doc and spend the points or you can hit the cap and 'waste' the extras till you hit Ranged IV. I would go with doc if you have the points to spend. The skills are nice to have.

my advice is to train in doctor and raise you cap you can always surrender out of it later...

or train in something in doctor line if u cap again just to raise your cap

I think I will do that, be nice if there was some kind of message to tell you "You can no longer gain experience in this category" or something.
