/tendwound (medcenter, camp, or with amed droid only)and /tenddamage (anytime, I think)will allow you to use your mind pool to heal wounds and damage and get medical xp. You need a generic crafting station, 8 units of organic and 8 units of inorganic to make Stimpack-A units, which heal damage using less of your mind pool and does not cause any mind wounds. I don't think you can make Woundpacks until you get Organic Chemistry I, which takes crafting xp from making the Stimpack-A units.

You gain medical experience by healing people (other than yourself). If you plan on advancing up the Org Chem branch you will need to make your own meds to gain experience. In order to make a Stim-A you will need a generic or food/chemical crafting tool. You will need 8 organics (hide, bone, etc..) and 8 inorganics (metal, water, chemical). Open up you crafting tool and select "Small Stimpack A" then select next and insert the needed resources and keep stepping through until you complete the crafting process. If you do not want to advance in the Org Chem branch you could simply purchase your meds from another medic.

I was under the impression that /tendwound and /tenddamage did not provide experience.

The "/Healwound" command is for use with medpak's. If you don't have medpaks, then you need to use the "/tendwound" comand. To use it type </tendwound health> to heal damage on the health bar, and </tendwound action> for the action bar. You can also do the same for the secondary attributes as well, in the place of health or action put in the name of the attribute that you want to heal.

Keep in mind the /tendwound command will slowly damage your mind, so you will need to visit the cantina every now and then. Once you start using medpaks, you will heal more, and you won't get any mind damage.

Also scroll down and read Tale's guide for medics, I found it very informative.

Hope this helps

You either have to purchase them or train as artisan and get a survery kit.

/tenddamage does not give exp, but /tenwound does. However, you can only get exp by healing other people, never yourself.

Whats the difference between tend and heal?

And it seems to me it would be easier to make macros for those /tendwound heath /tenddamage heath commands. True?

Did everyone get novice scout and novice artisan to get supplies or do u just buy them?

Noob medic here...

Throw me some "make sure too..." advice

thanks

/tend = heal without medicine

/heal = heal with medicine

tend also causes combat fatigue and uses more mind points than heal.

/tend can only heal up to about 23 wound points.

/tend acts like a med -A, which isn't great. It also causes 2 battle fatigue and wounds to your secondary mind pools.

I remember in beta when the devs introduced the /tend commands. We medics complained saying we didn't want "jedi" heals. Then both types of /tend gave XP...tenddamage and tendwound. So we medics would stay in the cantina /tending so entertainers got healing xp and we got med xp. T'was great.

I use /tends when someone I'm healing has 20 or less wounds left which my woundpack didn't heal. You can get by on /tends but they aren't great....

If you are a scout you probably have tons of organics. The best way to get organics is probably to just purchase a harvester and plant it somewhere. You don't need any artisan skills at all. Errrr, you might need someones help to find the spot... or you could just look for other harvesters.

Incedentally if you are not a scout you can get organics in a similar fashion with a flora farm. Personally, I just take artisan and survey myself. Then much later move on to harvestors.

You might be able to get a good deal on some crappy resources from the bazaar. 1000 petrochem or generic metal makes quite a bit of stimpacks.

/tendwound is useful even for master doctors because it will heal stamina/quickness/strength/constitution wounds, and its a real pain to keep meds for all of them stocked.
