Thread: Idea for durability on meds

It has been noted by many people that durability does nothing for final product packs. Durability on components have been debated as to help make experimentation safer in terms of failures...

I would propose that durability on final packs would effect the heal varience of a pack..

I have noticed that the damage variance for packs can be very wide...Stim Bs that dud heal for 100 then heal for 600...or wound Cs that will heal for 80 then heal for 300...I get fairly annoyed at making a quality pack just to have the damage variance nerf some of the charges on my packs it is quite annoying...

So i propose that durability will effect the variance in healing amounts...

The higher the durability, the smaller the damage variance...Would be nice to be able to depend on a heal for doing xxx and not wondering if they next time u are in bad shape if you will get a dud heal or not...

What do you guys think about this idea?

That's not a bad idea.

Or, since medicines are primarily organic, what about making them decay after a certain amount of time depending on durability? Basic medicine might not decay as fast, but really advanced stuff like Stim D & E might decay fairly quickly if you don't use it. This would bring back some incentive to make lower level meds after you can get something better, since you could stockpile them longer for emergencies.

Interesting theory, Elanora! I figure Durability has to have *some* effect, and your idea makes sense.

How to test it, though? The easiest way I can think of is to craft some Stim As, pouring all the experimentation points into Durability until one achieves a critical failure and zeroes it out. Thentrack the resulting healing values. Afterward, craft some successful, Durable Stims, track those results, and compare.

I may have to try this...
