Thread: Factional Healing
I've been confused about this from the beginning, so just to clarify:
Can neutral medics heal overts? Coverts?
Can covert medics heal neutrals? Can covert imperials heal covert rebels if no one has a TEF?
Can overt medics heal anyone other than overts?
Can overt medics be slain in the hospital by someone who wanders in for healing?
Well, I'll answer the ones I do know. The ones I dont know I'll answer as best I can
"Can neutral medics heal overts? Coverts?"
Neutrals can heal coverts, they can't heal overts though (You get the "It would be unwise to help such a person" message).
"Can covert medics heal neutrals? Can covert imperials heal covert rebels if no one has a TEF?"
I'm pretty sure you can, I've healed a wide range of people as a covert rebel, the only people I could definitely not heal were overt imperials or covert imps with TEF.
"Can overt medics heal anyone other than overts?"
I believe overts can only heal same faction overt/covert people. They might be able to heal neutrals, but I think you get a msg if you try to heal opposite faction covert that has a TEF on them.
"Can overt medics be slain in the hospital by someone who wanders in for healing?"
Pretty sure they can by overts from the different factions, since overt means PvP pretty much anywhere. Also, keep in mind that if you're covert and you heal an overt, you get TEF and overts from the other faction can attack you (at least if theyre fighting each other at the time. I was covert and healed this overt guy, but he kept getting head shotted, so he eventually went down. A few seconds later, the imp that shot him started to shoot me, but luckily I managed to kill her before she got a 2nd shot off because she had low health left. That 2nd shotwould've incapped me and more than likely they'd of killed me).
Something strange I noticed today. It is sorta related to faction healing, and is quite possibly a bug, but apparently (this is what the guy told me, and he was a covert rebel cause his name was purple to me like all covert rebels are) there was a big fight in anchorhead on Tatooine (I'm guessing this is gonna be the "emain" of PvP for you Dark age of camelot folks). A covert rebel saw a blue named guy bleeding, so he applied a first aid to the guy, and then suddenly an overt rebel started to shoot the guy that healed. The healer was a CH (creature handler), so his pets went after the guy and knocked him out. I saw the pets chase him and knock him out, but I was afraid to heal him cause I thougth the 2 pets were imp pets and I didnt want a TEF flag at the time.
I then saw who the pets belonged to and talked to him a bit, he told me that he healed some blue named guy that was bleeding, and apparently got a TEF flag on himself for doing so.For some reason, I'm not sure if this was explained well in the game manual at all, but apparently he was able to heal a covert imp that had a TEF on him, and somehow that made him get a TEF, and he was then attacked by that overt rebel. Unless this is a known bug, I thought you weren't able to attack members of your faction at all?

Healing faction rules were created as is to prevent exploit...
If neutrals could heal overts, then you could have all the medics go neutral and heal overts and enemy overts could do nothing to stop it.
Thus, only coverts and overts healing overts makes that exploit impossible...
