Thread: Noob Question, please answer...

Okay..here it is, don't laugh to hard.


I am a master medic and have +50 to medicine use. If I get a +1 tape say for medicine use to give me +51 now, my medicine use is a +51. I noticed that the anidotes that my bud uses are medicine use +51 and they heal disease and poison. Does this mean I can now use the anidotes or must I be a doctor???


How's that one for you guys

it means you can use them yes... but you have to be 4-0-0-0 in doctor to have the skill to apply the cure poison/diesease.


So there is two components to being able to cure poison/diesease



  1. The med-use to use the cure poison/diesease pack, and...

  2. The ability to apply these cures (e.g. 4-0-0-0 in doctor)

Unless they un-fixed it, there is a second part to that story. That is that med use tapes dont actually work.


They may look like they do, but they dont.


For an easier way to look at it:


Say your at med use 30 and you get a med use +1 skill tape, taking you to med use 31. You still cant use a med use 31 stim pack C. Because all med use bonuses dont actually work. They were supposed to be taken out of the game. But supposedly there are still a few lingering about.

I also wanted to concur that we did get official word from the Devs that Med Use (and COmbat Med Use, for that matter) are deliberately removed from the game. Unfortunately old Med Use stuff still exists and apparently they did not completely remove them from the loot tables, either, so even NEW Med Use tapes exist, but none of them actually work.


If you are interested in more of the details I would suggest checking out the Medic Issues List under the Issue of SEA... someting about SEA concerns, I don't remember the exact title of the issue off the top of my head.

Cure poison is at the second box, while I believe cure disease is a the fourth box of one of the doc lines...can't remember which off hand. (wound treatment I beleive, could be wrong)

They are both in wound treatment speed. Cure poison is in 2, cure disease is in 4.
