Hey all.

New Medic here...
I am level 3 on all categories but I have a few questions to make my meds more effective.

Before I began to level up a few days ago I was with a friend and he is a Ranger, he set up this elaborate camp site and when I tried to make a med it asked me every time if I wanted to experiment with it. But, I cannot seem to bring that window up anymore, thus I cannot experiment.
Can someone direct me to where I can experiment?

Once I do experiment, are the results permanent or do you have to experiment each time you craft a med?

I have a certain amount of skill pts to use each time I experiment, does it make a difference what to apply those to in the process?

Can I purchase a better crafting tool that is more effective than the one I currently have (Food and Chemical Crafting tool)?

I am currently using Dathomir Bone and Hide for organic, what components are best to use for meds or does it really matter?

Thanks in advance...

Hey Marmaduke .. let me see if I can answer your questions ... I'm sure folks will correct me if i'm wrong

You need to be next to a Food/Chem crafting station. Most, if not all, ranger camps come with them. Find the public crafting station in your town (make sure it's the Food/Chem station!) and sit next to it. You'll be able to experiment. Some of the higher level meds require that you use a private Food/Chem crafting station in a house or droid to even see the schematics.

Every time you make a med you have to experiment.

Absolutely!!! Applying the points to charges increases the charges, to effectiveness increases the power (base heal). I don't think anything under a Stim C has an ease of use experimentation but that reduces the med use required to use the stim.

The Food/Chem crafting tool is what you need. But try to get one with postive effectiveness (examine it to see) . .the higher the number, the less likely that you will fail on an experiment.

It matters in a HUGE way! Note .. the following are MY definition of quality: Low quality is OQless than700, PE less than 400, Med quality is OQ 700 - 850, PE 400 - 700, High quality is anything above that, Excellent quality is OQover 900 and PEover 900. (OQ = overall quality, PE = Potential energy)

I do not use bone or hide unless i'm just grinding out BECs in practice mode because they don't have any PE. I recommend using one of the flora foods ... grains, flowers, veggies, meat.

The formula calculating the results of your stim (and the maximum amount you can get from experimentation) weights OQ at 66% and PE (UT for inorganics) at 33%.

I hope that helped and didn't confuse you!

Doctors can heal quickly and more efficiently because of their skills. Some of it comes from the supplies they use, some of it comes from their skill.

Hunt for meat if you can. If you want to make advanced medical components, you will want to seek out the best quality Herbivore meat you can find (pick a planet) and hunt it to extinction.

Wow! Did it ever answer my questions! Thank you!

I do have this one for you. Instead of harvesting bone or hide are you saying meat would be a better ingredient for these meds?

I guess I can purchase the others from vendors or the bazaar. I did purchase a good sum of steel and luminum yesterday fairly good quality.

Thanks for your help I really appreciate it.
