Thread: Healing mind in battle idea
- letting squad leaders heal it
- letting entertainers heal it in the field
- letting medics heal it, but take mind wounds
- letting someone heal it but slowly, so they have to stand next to the healee for a substantial amount of time (and need covered, etc)
- adding a new camp type that only heals mind pool
I'm sure there's even more ideas floating around.
-Raph Koster,
The way it should be done is that Medics should be given a new item - Painkillers. Painkillers would naturally help someones mind as the pain of the injuries would be numbed and the person could continue fighting - thus healing the mind pool. The problem is that Painkillers would only be a temporary solution, after a set amount of time the damage to the mind pool would return, the Painkillers would also not cure mind wounds - these things would keep the Entertainers in demand.
I think Combat Medics should be able to heal the mind during battle. To make sure entertainers are still needed for mind treatment, I think every time a person requires mind healing during battle their mindpool would automatically be dimished by 5% of its total value. (or some other percentage, whatever seems fair)
That means each time you require mind healing your mindpool takes a hit in addition to the decrease obtained from battle. I think this would work unless I'm missing something. This would let combat medics keep you alive short term anyway from mind damage but at the same time require a visit to the entertainer for a more substantial fix.
lol Painkiller idea could be something entertainers only could craft
it'd make them like club kids and their little pills
I posted to this already, but my post got deleted. Guess the devs didn't like what I had to say.
I forget EXACTLY what I said, but I'll try again.
Medics shouldn't be able to heal mind damage. That would make them MUCH too powerful. The fact that they can only heal health and damage is a purposeful limitation. I think mind damage should be healed by entertainers. For those who say that entertainers don't belong in battle, perhaps there should be an entertainer/combat hybrid profession.
